Qatar[edit]

Somebody has removed 3 TIMES my note of the Qatar legislative election, which has been announced already it MAY be delayed to early 2008 (it is still a chance, but it is worth to put a note) . The people who had removed my changes should go and inform himself before spreading his ignorance to millions of Wikipedia readers. This is my job and I am the editor of the most important Electoral calendar on the WEB, there is no reason why a dummie should remove a due note not once not twice but 3 times. I may consider not to collaborate with Wikipedia anymore if giving my time to keep the calendar updated is wasted by somebody who act arbitrary and this is not the first time.

BTW,I removed the Scottish unknown date because the election will almost surely not be held this year.

This is the 4th time. and last one, I will not collaborate with this crap site of Wikipedia anymore in my life. Wikipedia is the worst crap website in the web and it is includes all false information and remove constatly teh corrct one. It is a website of crooks and bastard. Bolivia will hold two referenda, the first one will be a referendum on a draft Constitution, if it is approved, the draft will be submitted by Parliament for proposed changes (3 months time) and later a definitive Constitutional referendum will be held. Qatar will probably postpone its election by early spring 2008, while Wales will not certainly hold elections this year. Trinidad elections and Oman elections dates are already been proposed, and Poland too,altough official confirmation is still pending. Mysterious removal of Scottish parliament election, 2007[edit]

I added the Scottish Parliament election, 2007 in the May section a few days ago. Because it was removed without explanation, I am forced to presume that it was removed because it concerns a non-sovereign entity. However, because this page includes elections in such non-sovereign areas as Abkhazia, Wallis and Futuna, Mayotte, the British Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Kosovo, Gibraltar, and Tokelau, I can only assume the Scottish parliament election was removed for some other reason. That seems rather arbitrary. What's the use of an electoral calendar that ignores major elections? We're linking to stubs but ignoring a well-developed article for what seems like a really silly reason. Where is it written that we have to ignore elections in regions without their own ISO codes? That would include a lot of minor, local and by-elections which are not really fit for an electoral calendar (since we'll never be able to include all of them) -- that's my main problem: If we include minor elections, we would have to at least red-link to all of them, and at least *I* have not got a source for *all* elections that took place in 2007... —Nightst a llion (?) 07:09, 14 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I propose a non-exhaustive list, insofar as category:2007 elections is a non-exhaustive category. Most of our lists are non-exhaustive. If an election is not notable enough to have an article, then the calendar could easily omit it without risk to its utility. What really reduces its utility is the omission, for the sake of consistency, of notable elections of undeniable importance and wide interest. An election in which millions vote, and for which there exists a detailed article, should not be excluded from a list including elections in which a few thousand vote. Category:2007 elections contains 153 articles, including by-elections and local elections, whereas the electoral calendar presently includes 105, by my count. The increase would be minor, and we'd avoid these kind of glaring omissions. Bhumiya (said/done) 19:28, 14 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

OK, how about we include all elections which are either national or have an electorate estimated at over - say - 100,000? This would exclude most by-elections and local elections, except where local elections are held concurrently across a large area, and would include elections for major regional entities? I do object, since it would mean we would have to include provincial elections, local elections (all cities with more than 100,000 voters). Please keep the list limited to elections for presidents and parliaments/congresses of sovereign states (incl. those entities that claim sovereignty) and their self-governing dependencies (overseas territories, associated states etc.) and to referenda at the same level.
