Qatar[edit]

I have a remark regarding teh Qatar election: according to the new Constitution a legislative parliament must be created, therefore next elections can be called Parliamentary election rather than Consultative Assembly election. Real power will still in the hands of the emir, but that's another matter.

Local elections?[edit]

Hmm..this template doesn't seem to include the local elections. Should we add them? --PaxEquilibrium (talk) 22:24, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Nope, we only include elections for entities which are de facto independent *OR* have an ISO 3166-1 code. —Nightstallion 23:56, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Does that apply to Kosovo? --PaxEquilibrium (talk) 20:02, 7 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, good point. Mh. I suppose it could qualify as a sui generis case, as it is under the adminstration of UNMIK at the time of the election. —Nightstallion 23:23, 7 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Do gubernatorial US elections pass this criterium? —GMMarques 12:56, 11 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Nope, why should they? —Nightstallion 21:35, 12 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ok. I just didn't want to remove them without being sure. —GMMarques 10:26, 13 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"2008 presidential election"[edit]

Why is the text "2008 presidential election" redirects here. For the 2008 US presidential election, see United States presidential election, 2008. at the top of the page? The US election is not the only presidential election this year, so either they should all be listed in the disambiguation link, or none should be present. Seeing as all 2008 presidential elections are listed in this article, I would favour the latter. --GW_SimulationsUser Page | Talk 09:30, 5 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • It's the one most users of English Wikipedia will be looking for. -LtNOWIS (talk) 07:17, 6 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
    • I dispute that statement. Wikipedia is not just used by Americans, and even if it is the most common, that doesn't mean that everyone will be looking for it. To me, it looks like a clear case of systematic bias. --GW_SimulationsUser Page | Talk 17:01, 6 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
    • Most users of English Wikipedia? How do you know most users of English Wikipedia would be looking for the American presidential election? --Kmsiever (talk) 02:13, 7 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • It was a compromise. See here. --Kmsiever (talk) 02:13, 7 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Maldives[edit]

According to this link, the Maldives will have a presidential election by 10 October 2008. Yes, it could be before, but that isn't quite the same as Unknown. How do we indicate this in our article? I believe the info could be helpful to the citizenry. Misterantithesis (talk) 19:07, 16 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

_________

I corrected already twice the 2008 to 2009 undate elections. As I told you before, these elections WILL NOT BE HELD IN 2008. Please change to 2009 or later. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.13.80.60 (talk) 17:15, 23 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

ALSO: Thailand recall referendum HAS BEEN CANCELLED , Samak quit and Somchai is the new PM: you can expect further clashes soon, but the so -called referendum idea by Samak no longer stays. Please, try to update more often —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.13.80.60 (talk) 17:18, 23 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
