ART drivers[edit]

Which drivers will drive for ART in the first round? Bird ist confirmed [1]. But this reference also says, that Bird "will line up alongside ART's F3 Euro Series champion Jules Bianchi for the Asia series opener in Abu Dhabi". So what about Ericsson. Maybe an autosport reader can shortly say what the article says about Ericsson and Bianchi.--Gamma127 (talk) 11:01, 17 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

From Autosport magazine this week:
Perhaps it would be safer to leave the round number column as "TBA" or "TBD" until the races actually occur?--Midgrid(talk) 12:34, 17 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Question[edit]

I have just a general wiki question - what is 'ndash;' and why is it used (surely it is exactly the same as typing '-' only takes up more space unnecessarily). Officially Mr X (talk) 14:39, 31 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A bit late, but an en-dash is actually longer than the dash/hyphen key on the keyboard ("–" compared with "-"). Please see WP:DASH for more information.--Midgrid(talk) 12:11, 4 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Race report naming[edit]

There are a couple of problems with the naming of race reports. Looking at the current list. From the 2009-2010 season:

  • 2009–10 Abu Dhabi 1st GP2 Asia round
  • 2009–10 Abu Dhabi 2nd GP2 Asia round
  • 2009–10 Bahrain 1st GP2 Asia round
  • 2009–10 Bahrain 2nd GP2 Asia round

Firstly, only one year should be used in the article title. While the season may spread from one year to the next, the individual races do not. The four race reports are articles in their own right, not components of a larger article. Secondly, The use of national identifiers Abu Dhabi and Bahrain is inappropriate. It is used that way in Formula One not because the races are held in Abu Dhabi, but because that is the name of the race. The race articles are not called 1975 Spain Formula One round. In the event where events do not have a specific name the circuit should be used as the identifier as of course a country may have more than one circuit. That Abu Dhabi and Bahrain do not have second circuits in this particular season is not important compared to the standard naming procedure. The UAE and Abu Dhabi has other circuits. Thirdly, 1st round and 2nd round. Numerical abbreviations should not be used. The word should be spelt out in full, First and Second. However, it would perhaps by more appropriate to pin them to a particular time. Much in the same way as the year pins it down to a particualr time, month would be a better discriptor. Therefore, I strongly suggest the races should be moved to:

  • 2009 Yas Marina Circuit GP2 Asia Series round
  • 2010 Yas Marina Circuit GP2 Asia Series round
  • 2010 Bahrain International Circuit GP2 Asia Series round (February)
  • 2010 Bahrain International Circuit GP2 Asia Series round (March)

Any comment prior to implementation? --Falcadore (talk) 07:58, 10 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

No qualms here. Cs-wolves(talk) 14:12, 10 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
