MLS season article naming convention[edit]

I was perusing the MLS articles and noticed that there really wasn't a convention on how the season articles should be named, so I started a discussion on the USA/Canada Footy Wikiproject. If you with to join in the discussion, you may do so here. Thanks! --Bobblehead (rants) 21:37, 6 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Template switcheroo[edit]

I've replaced this article's usage of Template:fb rs with Template:fb rs mls. I created "fb rs mls" based on a long winded consensus discussion regarding W-D-L vs. W-L-T formatting. Hopefully this transition will cause little to no pain for the editor(s) of this article. Thanks!--SkotywaTalk 21:27, 12 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Couldn't care less, thanks for the efforts. Morry32 (talk) 00:51, 13 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Format of Results table[edit]

I'm going through and creating season articles for the other MLS teams and I'm using a different format for the results than what you're using here. You can see the format I'm using at the 2009 Houston Dynamo season article. What are your thoughts to changing the format for the results table in this article to the one I'm using on the other articles? The main advantage is that once all the articles have been created it would make maintenance of all the season articles much easier. As an example of the easier maintenance, with today's KC/NY game, once I've created the NY article all that would be necessary to update today's game on both the KC season article and the NY season article would be to update the game on one article and then copy the results to the other article. Of course, if you don't want to change the format, that's fine with me. --Bobblehead (rants) 02:43, 24 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

That is an awesome plan, I used that football box in the 2008 Kansas City Wizards season but sort of got away from it in 2009 mainly because I didn't use it for the achieve of all the Wizards seasons and because I liked the look of the table when all the competitions are considered on the page. But having it all linked together makes for a strong case in this situation- shame we can't somehow relate that to the other competitions. I say go ahead and change the KC one too or if you give me a few days I will do it myself. Morry32 (talk) 02:55, 24 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I'm currently working on 2009 New England Revolution season, but once I've got that one complete, I'll head over here and make the switch. Although, what do you mean by "we can't somehow relate that to other competitions"? I don't see why we couldn't use the same format to represent the games for other competitions in the article as well, similar to what was done at 2009 Houston Dynamo season#Pre-season or 2009 Seattle Sounders FC season#Major League Soccer qualifying. I was just working on the MLS season in this round and was somewhat planning on making another pass once I got the MLS schedules set up to get the other competitions covered as well. --Bobblehead (rants) 08:43, 24 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
All done. Thanks for the OK.;) --Bobblehead (rants) 00:56, 25 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I hope the editor(s) of this page are cool with this. I've added a location parameter to the box score template such that it will collapse better will still preserving the City, State, Country info along with the Stadium. The goal is to further minimize the need for scrolling on season pages. If you don't like it, feel free to revert. Thanks! --SkotyWATalk|Contribs 23:05, 6 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Is there a format that MLS teams should follow, I see that there are different even with in teams. please let me know, I want to fix the Chicago FIRE seasons since the format for 2008-2009-2010 are different from each other.
This is what I will use for the 2007 season, Let me know if it would be cool to change the other FIRE seasons to that format.
