Cause[edit]

Just to let the editors of this article know, that the cause of the flooding was a weak tropical depression which has since intensified into Severe Cyclonic Storm Jal.Jason Rees (talk) 04:53, 6 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Data available[edit]

Tons of data regarding the floods are available at Global storm activity of late 2010. Copy it here if you want. --Anirudh Emani (talk) 13:51, 12 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

 Done --Anirudh Emani (talk) 12:13, 13 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Too much focus on the South[edit]

The article is presenting too much information about floods in the South. While almost 40 provinces of the country has affacted by the flood, just a few ones in the South represented in the article. --223.207.125.18 (talk) 12:32, 13 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, i will further expand the north Thailand info soon. Not much is out yet, so it'll take time. --Anirudh Emani (talk) 05:28, 14 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
However, the flooding actually devastated much of the southern and central provinces of Thailand. --Anirudh Emani (talk) 05:38, 14 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Don't forget about Isan. The region has suffered the most (some news said this is the worst floods there in 50 years). --222.123.129.133 (talk) 10:33, 21 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

SVG/PNG Required[edit]

Currently the article shows the location of Thailand, but we need the image showing the areas flooded in Thailand. Can someone make it? --Anirudh Emani (talk) 10:02, 14 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I saw a map showing the flooded areas at the Thai article -> th:อุทกภัยในประเทศไทย พ.ศ. 2553. - Takeaway (talk) 15:39, 14 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
That image has labeling marked in Thai script, i would be happy to see it made in English. --Anirudh Emani (talk) 16:05, 14 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Nearly same as a newer article[edit]

In the clean-up of the article Global storm activity of late 2010 a new article was created called Thailand floods of late 2010 on November 14 which was a split-off of the "Global storm activity of late 2010". I had a quick glance at both articles (the newer one and this one here) and they seem as if they are pretty much the same. Can someone who has been working on this article please have a look and merge the two? Weather is just not my thing and it seems that someone who had already busied themselves with this subject might do it much more efficiently than I would be able to. - Takeaway (talk) 14:18, 14 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, i will merge the other article into this article. --Anirudh Emani (talk) 14:50, 14 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! - Takeaway (talk) 14:54, 14 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
No problem. --Anirudh Emani (talk) 15:06, 14 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Merge discussion[edit]

The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section. A summary of the conclusions reached follows.
This discussion is a result of a merge tag placed in 2010 [1] which suggested that this article (2010 Thailand floods) be merged to 2010 Malay Peninsula & central Thailand floods Since that article does not exist and this discussion took place over a three year period, I don't believe there is any basis for a consensus and so I'm closing it. Please add a new tag and open a new discussion if you would like to suggest this article be merged someplace else.--KeithbobTalk 21:05, 15 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • both of them are of the same exact cause, then why are the articles seperate, it would be a 100 times better if we merge the articles right. --Anirudh Emani (talk) 14:03, 15 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • I entirely agree with the merge purposal. Vanruvan (talk) 22:43, 12 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Merge - it's a waste to have two articles ToastyMallows (talk) 15:36, 25 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Keithbob, Anirudh Emani, Vanruvan, ToastyMallows: The merge has now taken place. Please let me know what you think. Harej (talk) 06:04, 25 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I think it's good to combine and organize content when we can. WP:MERGE recommends a 30 day merge discussion but since there was a prior (though confusing and disjointed) conversation and you have notified all relevant parties I have no objection to your bold action. I also have no specific opinion on the content being merged as I am unfamiliar with it. One thing I would suggest however, is tagging the talk pages as directed here.
