Dates should be listed as the day the incident occurred, not the day the suspension was handed out. Date of incident references the game in which the incident occurred. Date the suspension was handed out gives no sort of reference or time frame to the situation as the suspension may come on the same day as the incident or even a week later.

Definitely should be incident date for the reasons mentioned above. Several of the suspension announcements have come after the player has missed a game. Using incident allows for accurate determination of when the suspended player can return. Having this multiple date format would work as well. One95 (talk) 06:26, 29 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

None of the suspensions were announced after a player missed a game. If you are referring to Staubitz/Winsiewski, they were suspended indefinitely before a game was played. When an amount of games was given out for the suspension, the game(s) missed were included in that suspension.
