French Polynesia[edit]

According to start lists its Tahiti, however we have it listed as French Polynesia. So which one is correct? Intoronto1125TalkContributions 05:04, 19 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It seems officially the federation is listed under Tahiti List of Oceania Members. However Tahiti is part of the French Polynesia and when I type TAH into the flaglink|???|at the 2011 World Aquatics Championships it produces French Polynesia. What are everyone's thoughts? Exactly, so I think we need to change the template to Tahiti. Intoronto1125TalkContributions 01:41, 28 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Doing some quick research it seems Tahiti and French Polynesia is used interchangably based on the federations listed on their olympic committee site Les Federations. Base on this I assume anyone living in the French Polynesia could swim at this championships. JoshMartini007 (talk) 03:59, 28 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
FINA lists the nation as "Tahiti" in their directory, and has done so historically. The only time I am aware of Tahiti not being listed under "TAH" was at the 2009 Worlds, where the nation got listed under their French departmental-type for the meet (POM), eventhough there is no "POM" code in the FINA directory (and even then, I believe they were referred to as "Tahiti". On a similar note, ISV is listed as "U.S. Virgin Islands" instead of just "Virgin Islands". 21:43, 30 August 2011 (UTC)

Weasel Words[edit]

James Magnussen started off the Australians with an amazing split of 47.49. Intoronto1125TalkContributions 19:27, 24 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

That's it? Why don't you take some initiative and change it? It probably would of taken you less effort to change it than put that stupid tag on the page...
I know, but I had a reason because I didn't contribute at all to the article I just let someone else do it. Intoronto1125TalkContributions 01:08, 25 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
