Merging science news into years in science[edit]

I use to maintain the science news section, should I begin transferring notable material from January_2009_in_science and other monthly articles into the "2009 in science" article? - RoyBoy 05:16, 8 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Contributions to this article[edit]

Why am I practically the only person adding articles to this section? I mean sure, there are people who edit stuff, or add citations - but I'm the only one who's actually adding CONTENT. This section would be almost completely dead without me. It would be nice if other people would contribute/add stuff... Wjfox2005 (talk) 10:46, 18 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I am sorry you've not received adequate help on this page and wish I could offer assistance in the short term, but I really can't until I have my MA thesis under control. Your contributions, however, have been most delightful, and have definitely made this my favorite article on Wikipedia. And now I've discovered your website, which also looks grand! Wish you the best of luck in finding other contributors. Anyazelie (talk) 20:36, 29 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed name change[edit]

Does anyone think it might be worthwhile to change the name of this article to 2011 in science and technology, as it says in the introduction? Many - perhaps most - of the news items here are about new technological inventions, rather than discoveries of new scientific phenomena. A lot of people are interested in new technology; renaming the page and including it in the 2011 template would make it easier for users to find this page when looking for technological advances. Any thoughts? I won't change the name unless there's some kind of agreement, don't worry. Michaelmas1957 (talk) 03:13, 23 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support 2011 in science and technology is a much more apt name. Suraj T 05:02, 23 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support But perhaps the other years should be renamed as well, for consistency? Wjfox2005 (talk) 09:41, 31 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support I did not wrote in this article, but I read and follow it, remember put redirections in all the old years--Feroang (talk) 18:22, 31 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Images[edit]

Having added images to the 2012 in science article, I'm now going to retrospectively do the same here - illustrating each month section with a couple of relevant pictures highlighting a key scientific/technological development. Let me know your thoughts. Michaelmas1957 10:18, 29 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

FL nomination[edit]

I'd like to nominate this article to be a Featured List. What do other editors think? Michaelmas1957 (talk) 22:49, 22 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
