Results . . . (?)[edit]

Suggestion: Put in your source (in your short editing comment) when changing results. Currently, the table does not agree with the Green Papers, which lists Romney 30; Santorum 9; and uncommitted 3. Charles Edwin Shipp (talk) 21:13, 5 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

For those outside of the United States, I put a 'See also' entry at the bottom for Wisconsin but why does it not show in blue like the other lines? Charles Edwin Shipp (talk) 02:54, 7 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Fox News calls Obama the winner in WS?[edit]

I'm puzzled as Fox News is calling Wisconsin for Obama with 12% of the vote counted and Romney leading 230,000 to 172,000 votes.[1] At 15% counted and still at 240,000 to 212,000 in Romney's favor. The 28% counted mark shows 436,000 to 416,000 in Romney's favor.

Maybe Fox News made a mistake or they are projecting on something that's not apparent in the published numbers. CNN not calling Wisconsin yet.[2]

Does Wisconsin used some method other than majority vote for the entire state? --Marc Kupper|talk 03:45, 7 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

No. But if you know that some counties that are going to be heavily one way or the other but are not yet included you can add them as an estimate, using likely error to be safe - so if you only have results from a heavily R county, but you know for a fact that all of the rest of the state is heavily D, it is trivial to call the state even though the early results are the opposite. As of right now all networks are calling Wisconsin for Obama, and the AP and the NY Times have not called the state. Apteva (talk) 04:13, 7 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Exactly. Consider that Milwaukee contains a huge chunk of Wisconsin's population, and is heavily Democratic. So, Romney can win all of the smaller, rural counties, but Milwaukee's Democratic base is too much for Romney to overcome. Canuck89 (have words with me) 04:19, November 7, 2012 (UTC)

Vote results[edit]

Hey guys, let's not be adding the raw vote numbers until they are posted by the GAB. The info box is already out of date, and will need continual updating until the official numbers come in.Smooth pappa (talk) 17:15, 9 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
