Qualification[edit]

Does someone have a back up of the qualification page? It apparently has been lost during the moving. Schnapper (talk) 10:07, 24 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

What do you mean backup? You moved it and destroyed it? Druryfire (talk) 11:56, 24 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I did not destroy it. I checked the page a few hours ago and the move was already made but there wasn't any content left. Schnapper (talk) 12:12, 24 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I've talked to an admin who say's he will put it back, called 2013 AFC U-22 Asian Cup, same for qualifacation page. Druryfire (talk) 12:13, 24 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, thanks. The move was made because the final stage will be played in early 2014, so I guess we should better call it "2014 AFC U-22 Asian Cup". Schnapper (talk) 12:28, 24 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
That's why i intially changed from 2013 to 2014, but AFC are still going by the name 2013 and future events will be ona two year cycle 2015, 2017 etc, so this is the 2013 competition, finals are only held in early 2014, so I guess we don't need to change again as this is the official name of the comp, and should only be written into the article (which i think it is). Article Title[edit]

The tournament is held in 2014 so the title should be 2014 not 2013 ... in all the tournaments of the world & in all sports the title belongs to the year that the tournament been held at .... not what it was supposed to be .... plz correct the title. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Refel (talkcontribs) 22:54, 17 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

hey .... this championship is held in 2014 so the title should be 2014 not 2013 , I know it was supposed to be held in 2013 but the reality is that it is taking place in 2014 so please change the tiltle an related info. asian games of 1951 was supposed to be held in 1950 but the title become 1951 bcz it was held at that year ... !

Because you can't be bothered to sign your name and ignore the posts below with the reasons why, then I can't really give you a reason again Druryfire (talk) 19:49, 13 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Once again this 2013 edition has been moved to 2014. It is not the 2014 AFC U-22 Asian Cup. It is the 2013 edition, but the finals are played in early 2014. The finals could have been played in December 2013 if Thailand was selected as host. the next edition will be 2015, not 2016 like people appear to think. Please put the title back to what it once was. Druryfire (talk) 15:20, 20 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

2013 AFC U-22 Championship2014 AFC U-22 Championship – The official date is on January 2014.[1] --Relisted. -- tariqabjotu 07:03, 4 September 2013 (UTC) Mussav (talk) 20:09, 24 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose - per Druryfire's comment above - this is the 2013 edition, even though it being played in 2014. If reliable sources call the tournament the "2014 AFC U-22 Championship", I'd change my !vote. Mentoz86 (talk) 08:08, 27 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose I continue to oppose, the draw for the tournament was only just done and the AFC use 2013. This tournament is the 2013 edition, the finals were set to be played in July but pushed back. Druryfire (talk) 17:47, 27 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Weak support Official names aren't always the best choice for titles, and misleading official names can probably be safely rejected. --BDD (talk) 21:06, 3 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Winner group D[edit]

So funny ... the AFC changed the knock out stage matches so Korea will play the winner or IRQ-JPN and they put the changes today ... as it was something else yesterday ! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Refel (talkcontribs) 16:45, 19 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The knock out stage is wrong , per the-afc website , winners from both 3,4 groups will face runners-up and then face each other according to the AFC website http://www.the-afc.com/en/afc-u22-championship-2013-schedule-results.html winner QF 3(Aus-KSA) faces winner Q4 (IRQ-JPN) on 23rd/Jan/2014 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Refel (talkcontribs) 23:01, 17 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Iraq shouldn't be put as winner of group D just yet as they can still come second in their group. Superawesomee (talk) 13:45, 15 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Iraq are group winners due to the head to head criteria used to determine teams with the same number of points. Druryfire (talk) 14:58, 15 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
