113th season[edit]

Why must we number this season, when we haven't numbered the others? GoodDay (talk) 00:45, 24 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe we should number those ones also. Why wouldn't we number this one? AutomaticStrikeout 01:12, 24 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
It's easier to delete from one, then add to 112. GoodDay (talk) 01:22, 24 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
But why does it have to be standardized like that? Besides, it wouldn't be that hard. If you could confirm the total is correct, I'll add it myself. AutomaticStrikeout 01:25, 24 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Not quite sure, as how to confirm the numbering. GoodDay (talk) 01:27, 24 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I think it (along with all other MLB seasons) should be numbered. NFL, NBA, and NHL season pages are all numbered. The "Modern Era" began in 1901, which would make 2013 the 113th season. Frank AnchorTalk 01:29, 24 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, thank you. AutomaticStrikeout 01:31, 24 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
112 articles to go, have fun :) GoodDay (talk) 01:32, 24 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I have no issue with including the season number if it is verifiable. If there is consensus that it is good to include the number, there is no deadline as to when the other articles are updated.—Bagumba (talk) 01:36, 24 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I'll have to finish this later, hopefully in the next couple of days. AutomaticStrikeout 03:57, 24 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Playoffs?[edit]

Is the format of the playoffs the same this year as last year? 1) Is the divisional round 2-3 or 2-2-1? 2) Are the wild cards playing a single game playoff or best-of-3? 206.188.10.14 (talk) 20:30, 1 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The Division Series will return to 2-2-1. It was only 2-3 last year because the dates of the World Series were already set, and the Wild Card game resulted in MLB having to remove a travel day from the Division Series (i.e. play five games in six days instead of the typical five games in seven days). Moving the end of the season from Wednesday to Sunday gives MLB three extra days of flexibility in its playoff schedule. MLB was never planning to extend the WC playoff to three games, at least in the foreseeable future. Frank AnchorTalk 22:04, 1 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

"Standings" section should have "as of <date>"[edit]

Just so readers can be sure it's up-to-date. --96.233.83.210 (talk) 14:56, 18 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
