Rankings[edit]

Rankings are based on FIFA March 2011 rankings. They do not change rankings and games/groups if teams change rank now. Please do not chaange teams based on current rankings. Chris1834 (talk) 16:16, 20 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It is clear the 'Fixtures Tables' have been organised into alphabetical order. I am wondering what you think of adjusting the order of these to directly reflect the 'Group Standings Tables'. So currently, for example, a team at the top of a 'Group Standings Table' could be at the bottom of its 'Fixtures Table'.

I think it would be really neat for both tables to have the same order and align. This has actually happened in Group D of the Second Round - purely by chance. The final results of this group have placed these teams in alphabetical order, this makes it really easy for people to see what the results and fixtures are.

Tiebreakers[edit]

If two teams in the hexagonal are tied in points, differential, and goals, both in all games and head to head, what is the next tiebreaker? Do they use the FIFA team coefficient as they do in the Euro Cup groups? --Ring Cinema (talk) 17:28, 17 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It follows the rules established for such a case, which are applicable to any region during 2014 world cup qualification. They would play at a neutral venue. If they are still tied after 90 minutes and extra time, a penalty shootout decides it. Nitroxium (talk) 02:13, 10 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Discipline[edit]

Suggested rewording of second opening paragraph[edit]

The CONCACAF qualifying tournament consists of four rounds of competition, among the 35 members of the Confederation. The first round include the ten bottom-ranked teams in the region, five of which advanced to the second round. The second round arranged the first-round winners plus the 19 middle-ranking teams into six groups of four teams each, who competed in a round-robin schedule. The winners of each group advanced and joined by the six top-ranked teams, in the next round.

The third round consisted of three groups of four, each one playing round-robin series; the group winners and the runners-up advanced to the fourth round. The final round, also known as the [[2014 FIFA World Cup qualification – CONCACAF Fourth Round][Hexagonal]] is a round-robin competition, and the top three teams will advance directly to the 2014 World Cup. The fourth-placed finisher will play an two-game series against New Zealand, Oceania's first-placed team, for the final place at the World Cup Finals in Brazil. [Marzolian - not logged in]
