Date Formatting[edit]

Is there a reasons why the Year in Ireland articles all seem to have the number before the month like this, "11 November", instead of the month before the number like this, "November 11" (as per WP:YEARS)? Maestroso simplo (talk) 01:49, 6 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

My guess is that "date month/11 November" is standard this side of the world. The american "month date/November 11" is never used. MOS:DATEFORMAT says that there is nothing wrong with using either version, and WP:YEARS only gives it as an example and not a rule? If this is the case, there is a lot of changes that need to be made on a lot of pages. 2016 in the United Kingdom, List of years in Wales, List of years in Scotland, List of years in Northern Ireland and all the Ireland ones, to name a few. I'm going to remove the banner MOS template from the article. ~ Ablaze (talk) 09:01, 13 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, okay. That makes sense. Thanks! Maestroso simplo (talk) 15:19, 15 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
