statistics table[edit]

I don't know how do make it sortable, I was wondering if anyone can do that, cheers, Govvy (talk) 09:09, 1 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Overall table[edit]

@Wellington190:, It seems pointless to me, you have more or less the same information in the infobox, it doesn't really add to the article, do you mind if we remove it? Govvy (talk) 17:04, 9 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Overall table shows five wins, but they have only played 4 rounds as of 17.03.1846.7.195.132 (talk) 15:15, 17 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Reviewed and fixed. Govvy (talk) 15:21, 17 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Anthony Georgiou[edit]

I have amended his CL appearances from 1 to 0+1 as he was an 84th minute substitute against APOEL on Sept 2017.Statto74 (talk) 11:07, 11 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Llorente transfer fee[edit]

Just a heads up, there was a discussion on my talk page regarding this article: User_talk:Byteflush/Archive_1#Tottenham BytEfLUSh Talk 00:33, 4 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@BytEfLUSh:, I had a look at your talk page, it's strange people never use this talk page enough! I reverted it for the exact reason that it's not precise information. Saying around £12 million could easily imply it could of been £11 to £13 million. If a source isn't being clear on the amount and official club websites rarely offer up how much they paid for players. Then it will stay Undisclosed, if a source is differing on it, then the source shouldn't be used. Govvy (talk) 01:13, 4 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Govvy: While I know a thing or two about the English Premier League, this is way out of my ... well, league. I don't recall reverting the user unless it contained some obvious vandalism (maybe this?) - I looked at their source only after they linked it on my talk page - so I agree about that, though I'm not sure what's the custom on these pages. Hell, I didn't even know when Llorente transferred to Tottenham. That's why I linked the discussion here and directed the user to place any additional comments on this page. =)
Edit: I suck at writing prose, reading the above might leave you even more confused. I won't edit that again, but if you have any questions, I'll do my best to answer. =) BytEfLUSh Talk 01:53, 4 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Govvy: Most of the time clubs do not release the actual fees, and if you look up the sources used for other Tottenham transfers on this page (Sanchez, Aurier, etc.) they will say things like "reported" and "in the region of." If you want to list all of the fees as undisclosed then that's fine, but I don't understand why some uncertain sources are okay and others aren't. This is especially misleading because if you leave out Llorente's fee it makes it seem like Tottenham made money over the summer transfer window when they actually failed to break even. i love cashews (talk) 18:59, 5 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
BBC a trusted source didn't have the price down, ESPN seemed questionable in the way they said it, Sky Sports said "Spanish football expert Guillem Balague believes the agreed fee to be £12.1m (€13m)." Believes doesn't sound as reliable as "reported fee", it still makes it questionable. There is a question here you could bring to the football project, should we even be listing these so called reported fees? Govvy (talk) 20:26, 5 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Govvy: You're really just cherry-picking your sources because if you look on goal.com it says "reported £12million" and even disregarding that I find the distinction between "believed" and "reported" to be fairly arbitrary. More importantly, you ignored my main complaint which is that failing to include a numerical value for Llorente's transfer, even if the number is slightly less reliable (which I also disagree with but assuming I didn't) leads to overall spending estimates for the window that are grossly inaccurate and make Tottenham's summer look more frugal than it actually was. i love cashews (talk) 22:07, 6 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Govvy: great job having a discussion, bro i love cashews (talk) 03:36, 13 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Corrected totals:[edit]

@Govvy; I've amended or updated totals in both the appearances and top scorers tables as described in the Edit summary using same format for sub appearances. I believe they are correct but you might want to check for accuracy,46.7.195.132 (talk) 15:30, 2 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Monthly awards[edit]

I saw on 2017–18 Manchester City F.C. season there are monthly awards for the players, I thought it be cool to add similar section on Tottenham's season page. Govvy (talk) 06:39, 10 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Do Spurs have a player of the month award? In a similar vein, you might want to consider a "player personal awards section" For example, three Spurs players made the PL Team of the Year. Kane won PL POTM twice, and Wanyama and Erikssen were both awarded Goal of the Month v-Liverpool and Chelsea respectively.46.7.195.132 (talk) 17:10, 11 May 2018 (UTC).[reply]

For those that are interested, I have started a stub for next season in my sandbox, feel free to edit it if you want. Govvy (talk) 21:36, 10 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
