AFL.com.au publisher[edit]

Small point, but in many of the citations from AFL.com.au on this page and other footy related pages Bigpond or Telstra are referred to as the publisher even though the AFL would more correctly be the publisher. While AFL.com.au sits on Telstra Media's web platform, as a media organisation it is wholly owned and run by AFL, with Telstra simply owning the web and advertising components. (See this article.)

Would it not be more appropriate to refer to AFL or AFL Media as the publisher, or simply leave the publisher field blank per Template:Cite_news#Publisher? At the very least, can we stop referring to Bigpond as the publisher? The Bigpond brand became Telstra Media four years ago.

I know it's a small issue and unrelated to actual content, but it's one that seems to persist. Given the prevalence of citations from AFL.com.au, is there some sort of consensus we can come to regarding this? Kb.au (talk) 02:19, 25 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
