Pro Teams[edit]

Curious about club pages for this league. Some exist, some don't. I had thought that since all the teams are eligible for the national cup (Canadian Championship) they should have pages. Reading the WP:FOOTYN it seems like the clubs have to have played in the national cup. I assumed the pro teams in this pro-am league would have pages. Thoughts? Time to build these team pages? --Coppercanuck (talk) 03:36, 14 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I've always worked under the strict assumption that teams that have participated in the Voyageur's Cup (ie. Oakville) are automatically considered notable, otherwise they must pass GNG; being notable simply as being part of a 17-team league that sends one team into that cup is somewhat shaky ground in my mind. That same strict interpretation would mean that being a pro team only matters if the entire league is professional. That being said, there's B-teams from the CSL that had season articles made about them last year, so there's definitely a wide variety of interpretation on this. -Gopherbashi (talk) 20:05, 14 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
That's why I asked. I kind of felt the reverse, that being part of a league that feeds the national cup WAS enough. I wish the League1 Ontario office would publish which teams are fully pro, semi-pro and fully amateur, so that some of the unknowns would be taken away. --Coppercanuck (talk) 19:40, 20 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
