Linz or Ottensheim ?[edit]

What I can see is as follows. The venue is a man-made lake right next to the Danube; there is direct access from the river. This venue is immediately adjacent to the village called Ottensheim. The rowing club that has its base at this lake is called "Regattaverein Linz - Ottensheim". The city of Linz is some 10 km downstream from here. None of that determines appropriate naming (usage in reliable sources do); I just provide this for context. Schwede 66 00:29, 2 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I did a GoogleNews search for 'World Rowing Championships'. I looked at the first batch of hits and, setting aside those that just name the venue as 'Austria', they mostly say either "Linz - Ottensheim"[1][2][3][4] or "Linz Ottensheim".[5][6]. I think we should use of these two versions, perhaps "Linz Ottensheim" since that's what FISA uses. Nsk92 (talk) 01:03, 2 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I've been writing "Linz" for weeks now on articles for Rowers attending/competing but that's cool I'm happy to change them. I thought "Linz Ottensheim" might be a bit long for the medal template in Infoboxes but as shown here it works okay. the official name of the regatta venue is Regattastrecke Linz-Ottensheim (because hyphen is compulsory in German for this kind of place, the venue is part of the commune of Ottensheim, and FISA uses mainly the shorter Linz. I think that in English, it could be better to call it ” Linz Ottensheim ” (with or without ”-”).-Arorae (talk) 10:58, 2 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The table is wrong. Someone has chosen 26 of the 19 events.
