2020 East African Express Airways shootdown2020 Somalia East African Express Airways crash – According to news reports, Ethiopian troops claim to have shot the aircraft down, but Somali authorities are not treating their claims as conclusive. We should wait for a preliminary report from independent expert authorities before formally describing this accident as a shootdown. Lastly, I suggest using "Somalia" as the location, as Berdale is not well known internationally, and some sources spell it as "Bardale" or "Berdelle." Follow the naming convention! -

For articles on air accidents without a flight number, the title should be in the format: <year> <airline> <aircraft> <event> or, if this is not possible, <year> <place> <event>

Help needed to update page[edit]

I just tagged the page as needing updates. Many basic facts about the crash are absent from this article, but despite repeated Internet searches, I have been unable to find any English-language news about this crash from after May 2020. Earlier news articles discuss investigations being underway by the Somali and possibly Kenyan governments, but I cannot track down any official reports. I respectfully request help updating this article, preferably from an editor familiar with East Africa who may be able to interpret news sources in other languages, and/or knows how to obtain relevant documents from governments in the region.
