Endorsements[edit]

How are we going to deal with endorsements? I think we should use something like the box I have just added though I think it would be preferable to collapse them as default.--Darryl Kerrigan (talk) 22:59, 3 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I get that. I think something as trivial as endorsements are the exception that gives meaning to the general rule. Because otherwise, the disruption endorsement information causes to the flow of the article would favour removing that content all together.--Darryl Kerrigan (talk) 20:04, 8 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I am not opposed to endorsements being left off entirely, but we don't seem to do that very often. Particularly during ongoing campaigns, it seems a losing battle to try to remove these endorsements. Certain editors, think they are extremely important. There doesn't seem to have been any meaningful discussion of this for months, but endorsements continue to disrupt the flow of the article and more continue to be added. I have decided to be WP:bold and removed them all. Perhaps that will trigger a WP:BRD discussion. I find the endorsement formatting used on the 2018 BC Liberal page or the 2021 Progressive Conservative Party of Manitoba leadership election less disruptive to the flow of the page than a separate box. I think endorsements are worth including as a measure of support for candidates within the caucus, which can be a notable feature of a leadership race and has implications after the race is over. We could always leave out the "other important people" category. I wouldn't want to go against precedent and leave out endorsements entirely. Lilactree201 (talk) 00:34, 3 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I would prefer to collapse the template box (but that is likely not an option). I agree that the format used at 2021 Progressive Conservative Party of Manitoba leadership election is less disruptive. If we can't collapse it, that might be the best option. Okay, that won't really reduce the size of the boxes much. Only one endorsement currently included (from a Mayor) doesn't fit that criteria. Although, I guess removing unused fields would also help a bit.--Darryl Kerrigan (talk) 21:13, 14 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Photos of Candidates[edit]

I have added photos of the candidates to the article. Those we have photos for anyway. If there are available photos of Gavin Dew, Renee Merrifield, Stan Sipos or Val Litwin, they should be added also. The photos seem to clash a bit with the endorsement boxes. I think the endorsement boxes are a detriment to the article as I have said above, but there does not seem to be a consensus to remove them. Perhaps they should be converted to regular text to better fit with photos.--Darryl Kerrigan (talk) 23:13, 24 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Results table of ballots[edit]

A ballot by ballot results table would be a helpful addition to this article. So would a results map if anyone has the expertise and interest to make one. I was going to try to add a table, but I can't even find the full results on the party website or in media. Some of the results were tweeted by a journalist here but I can't seem to find the full number of votes, points, and percentage per ballot as is set out in the 2018 table. I added a table of results. Unfortunately, the only source I could find was this stream of the results from Facebook.[1] At least it was posted from the official account. If someone finds another source, that would be great. Also if they released the raw vote numbers that would also be nice to have.
