Questioning the need for this to be a stand-alone article[edit]

General notability of this election appears un-established. The only noteworthy thing I recognize that is noteworthy is the fact that it was the city's first mayoral election, which can simply be noted in the main article for the city.

I propose reaching a consensus that, once the city's second-ever mayoral election nears in a few years, we will restructure this article and move it to "Mayoral elections in Pueblo, Colorado", transforming it into an article dedicated to covering all mayoral elections in the city. That'd be similar to a number of other articles on general mayoral elections in city's that are large enough to have some notability to their political history, but are not large or economically/politically consequential enough that each and every mayoral election inherits individual notability worthy of a standalone article. Such articles include: Mayoral elections in Providence, Rhode Island; Mayoral elections in Springfield, Massachusetts; Mayoral elections in Evansville, Indiana; Mayoral elections in Manchester, New Hampshire, in the 20th century; Mayoral elections in Worcester, Massachusetts; Mayoral elections in South Bend, Indiana; Mayoral elections in Hartford, Connecticut; Mayoral elections in Providence, Rhode Island.

Feel free to try to convince me of the notability of this election, and why it makes sense to have its own article. Otherwise, I'll revisit it when the next election years by creating "Mayoral election in Pueblo, Colorado" as a new article and making a merger proposal.

Comment. — Are you sure you read the article closely enough? This is the second contemporary mayoral election in Pueblo. The first election/runoff was in 2018-2019. There's no article for the earlier one, the first mayoral election. I'd support re-structuring the article to include all mayoral elections. The article on Pueblo itself is already quite long, so I think separating out the mayoral election(s) into a separate article is helpful. Note also that the runoff for this current election has not yet occurred. Jeffrey Beall (talk) 22:46, 18 January 2024 (UTC).[reply]
