Order of section: quali, sprint shootout, sprint, race?[edit]

@Island92: with relation to this edit, can you explain why having tables is these sections changes anything? SSSB (talk) 20:13, 25 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The order of tables follows how the weekend unfoldes. More precisely I find it correct not to alter date orders, hence 28 29 30 April. Island92 (talk) 20:16, 25 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Is there a 107% Time for the Sprint Qualifying?[edit]

I have seen the F1's Sprint Quali Shootout results (FORMULA 1 AZERBAIJAN GRAND PRIX 2023 - SPRINT SHOOTOUT) and found that the 107% Time for the Sprint Qualifying was not mentioned in there.

Is there a 107% Time for the Sprint Qualifying? Just to ask. AptiveViennaPro (chat with me) 07:49, 30 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Article 39.4 b. i. of the newly updated sporting regs says it does. SSSB (talk) 07:58, 30 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

De Vries race incident[edit]

Hi all, I edited the Race Report but realised later I may not be 100% correct. Did the original text, where it says De Vries "ran wide into the barrier", suggest the initial contact (or contact referred to) to be on the "inside" of the previous turn because he definitely did not incur contact at the next turn, where he pulled up short of the barrier? Please clarify. Thanks, Mickey Mickey Smiths (talk) 21:47, 30 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Which turn?
"where he pulled up short of the barrier..."
de Vries ran wide, and the front right tyre was dislodged when he made contact in Sector 1 Turn 3 of the Baku City Circuit. AptiveViennaPro (chat with me) 05:13, 1 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It sounds like we might be talking about two different incidents? De Vries crashed at turn 3 in qualifying - here he only hit the outside wall, damaging his front-right suspension.[1]. In the race, de Vries hit the inside wall at turn 5, this broke his front left suspension and he lost steering, so went straight on at turn 6 stopping just short of the barrier. [2]. SSSB (talk) 07:30, 1 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
OK, so I am correct (this is regarding the race incident). Yes, he clipped the inside wall at turn 5 & went straight on in turn 6 but did not contact the barrier. Therefore my edit is OK. Thanks all, Mickey Mickey Smiths (talk) 07:35, 1 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Fix quali footnotes?[edit]

Is there an accepted way to fix the footnotes referring to qualifying and the various timing tables? Currently there are 4 footnotes numbered 1 which when you click on the footer link all go back to the Qualifying classification section. Should the numbers restart each time? Is this a limitation of Firefox (which I am using)? 176.254.212.225 (talk) 21:50, 2 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Just checking other articles - this seems to be quite a big thing to fix across many pages. A way around it might be as per https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=2006_Hungarian_Grand_Prix&oldid=1152613723 where the first numbered parameter for refs is always increasing but the second restarts each section. 176.254.212.225 (talk) 08:15, 3 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The approach at 2006 Hungarian Grand Prix is the one that we use. It is just that for many articles it has not been executed correctly at many articles. SSSB (talk) 18:40, 4 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
