Unsourced speculatory content

@Naren aviation I see that you have reverted me to restore the alliance section without adding a reliable source. Please see Wikipedia:Verifiability#Responsibility for providing citations. After reading I hope you will self revert to remove the content that is unsourced or add reliable sources to them. If no sources are added, I will remove the content once again. Alliance

TDP, Jana Sena and Left parties (CPI and CPIM) contested together in Andhra Pradesh MLC election. (https://www.mirchi9.com/politics/tdp-left-parties-first-step-towards-alliance/) CPI leader K Narayana said that they are going to ally with the Telugu Desam Party and Jana Sena in the upcoming elections.(https://www.ap7am.com/lv-372354-cpis-narayana-comments-on-alliance-with-tdp-jana-sena) Although there is no mention of CPI(M) in the last citation, CPIM politburo member BV Raghavulu said that the number of seats CPIM would contest might vary after discussions with the CPI. (https://www.thehindu.com/news/national/andhra-pradesh/cpim-plans-to-contest-from-25-to-30-assembly-constituencies-in-andhra-pradesh-says-raghavulu/article66508016.ece). Can we add TDP, Jana Sena, CPI(M) and CPI together as an alliance?

  • Oppose/Comment Firstly to note that the MLC election is a preference based voting and voting in the order of preference as per the mutual understanding between the parties may not constitute as a alliance with the political respective political parties.
Secondly, As cited in the sources: the TDP came into a mutual understanding with PDF and not CPI or CPI(M) directly.
Thirdly, JSP although in alliance with BJP as part of the NDA did not contest in the election but the alliance partner (BJP) did. Eventhough JSP did not extend its support to TDP in the election it was only inferred indirectly through various other news-houses.
Lastly, I don't think the cited news material is reliable as they contain highly speculative material with opinions alone rather than official statements from the respective political parties and their leaders. The statement made by the Communist party leaders only cite that they may likely to go into a coalition with TDP and JSP but is not definite. And additionally there is no confirmation from TDP or JSP officially where JSP is already into NDA and must have a definte news material to constitute them together in a alliance. 456legend(talk) 13:13, 11 May 2023 (UTC)

No we can't. As @456legend has pointed out, MLC elections are completely different from legislative assembly elections, due to preferential voting and the fact that only a few parties actually have enough seats to put candidates for MLC elections. Parties with very few seats can't win MLC elections and hence support one or the other major party. Unless an alliance is announced for the upcoming election, no alliance should be added. Is this reliable?

Hi @XYZ 250706, how are you adding the CPI and CPM along with the TDP and JSP alliance? You mentioned that you provided a citation but that citation clearly mentions that The Communist Party of India (CPI) in Andhra Pradesh will strive for an electoral alliance between the Left parties including the CPI(M) and the opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and the Jana Sena Party (JSP). The word strive here is clealry indicating that it is not yet official. Additionally this citation you provided mentions that it was stated by the CPI State committee member G. Eshwaraiah. I don't think there is a mention of the official confirmation from the CPI state secretary and other members as you mentioned TDP, JSP and CPM. Untill and unless the information is officially out from all the parties about the consent to the alliance it shall not be added in any way. If you further want to contest kindly put forward your sources and aguments here before adding it to the Article directly. Also we must ensure that addition of any such unofficial information is avoided as much as possible as this might cause a confusion for the readers from the events that are actually happening around us. 456legend (talk) 09:37, 16 December 2023 (UTC)

The ref in question. Agree with @456legend. Dhruv edits (talk) 09:41, 16 December 2023 (UTC)

@Happyjit Singh Kindly discuss here on what basis you are adding CPI to the TDP and JSP alliance.
