The legislative election[edit]

From the lead section: "The legislative election, which will be the 13th such election for Indonesia."

Can someone confirm what does this sentence mean? Is it simply that "The legislative election, for its part, will be the 13th such election for Indonesia."? Thariqziyad (talk) 23:42, 22 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

"Registered" in infobox[edit]

There's no voter registration in Indonesia. Should a new parameter called "Eligible voters" at Template:Infobox election, which currently doesn't exist, be proposed to be created? Hddty (talk) 12:24, 13 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

TBH, I never use this parameter and have often thought it should be removed. Is it really a key bit of information how many voters are registered? The number itself is meaningless without the context of the population/adult population. Number 57 18:39, 13 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I don't have opinion whether it should be removed or not, probably should ask opinion of editor that have more edit in Indonesian election articles than me. If it kept, "Eligible voters" parameter then should exist.
The rule in this election is still the same with 2019 Indonesian general election. Modification in infobox that I think more important is to (1.) remove "Party" parameter and (2.) change "Alliance" to "Coalition"/"Nominating party or coalition of parties" (the word "coalition" is used here instead of "alliance"). To be eligible to run for president is to have support of "party or coalition of parties who have at least 20% of seats or 25% of votes in the last election". Currently Anies Baswedan, an independent, supported by three parties of last election, is in unique situation where if one of the party drop its support he would be ineligible to run for president (in reality, in my opinion, this has extremely little chance). This rule made coalition very important. The fact that he is an independent has also discussed very little in media as it has little importance. Hddty (talk) 01:37, 14 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I disagree with changing to "coalition". This term is commonly used to refer to parties that join together after an election to form a government, rather than going into the election in a pact, so could be confusing. Number 57 19:09, 14 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Hddty @Number 57 I have a proposal. How about we change Anies Baswedan's color from gray (independent) to sapphire blue (the color of the Nasdem Party and the Coalition of Change for Unity), since he is more commonly associated with his coalition rather than his status as an independent politician. As for the "Party" and "Alliance" parameters, I believe that both of these parameters could be kept (cf. the 2022 Brazilian general election, which also use both parameters). I still think that the color below the photo in infobox need to be removed, although the color still appropriate as a caption in election map. The color below the photo in infobox may be suited in US election articles, but not in this article.
If Brazil only require that a candidate is nominated by a party, it appropriate in that article. In this election, a party alone can't nominate candidates, they must form a coalition. Hddty (talk) 13:07, 15 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Automatic voter registration does exist in many other countries, just as it does in Indonesia. Replacing it with "eligible" voters only makes it more confusing since "eligible" voters does carry the conotation of having to register first before being able to vote. —twotwofourtysix(talk || edits) 08:11, 14 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Colors for the "Nominees" tables[edit]

@Aréat @Baraobor Hi. May I invite you to discuss what colors should we use for the "Nominees" tables? I saw that the colors have been revised several times so far. Sometimes, the party colors are used. At other times (currently), the coalition colors are used. I hope this discussion could lead to a more stable consensus about the most suitable colors for the presidential nominees. Cheers :). RyanW1995 (talk) 14:33, 5 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I already opened a thread on the presidential election page. We always used the party's colors in the previous page, as well as the legislatives ones. It's better to keep a consistency from one election to another. The color which were added are of one time use campaign logo, there's no advantage to use them, while it will make it more confusing when browsing the different pages. For example to see which candidate's party got the more seats. Cordially.--Aréat (talk) 17:03, 5 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Results[edit]

What reliable source can be used in finding out the results later? Borgenland (talk) 07:41, 14 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Quick counts are out but only percentages are available. For some reason the table won't allow percentages to be displayed at the very least. Borgenland (talk) 08:43, 14 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Fluctuating numbers[edit]

Not to assume electoral fraud, but is it normal for the number of votes of a presidential candidate in a certain constituency to decrease? I'm currently tallying results per province and I've been encountering these issues periodically on the KPU website, particularly in the overseas vote when it switched from Ganjar to Prabowo. Borgenland (talk) 07:47, 15 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Please somebody help me the link doesn't work :([edit]

I added the "External links" Section in the bottom. I added presidential vote counting link in the bottom, but it doesn't work. Arief Azazie Zain (talk) 22:36, 28 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Arief Azazie Zain: Fixed – this is how you do it. Cheers, Number 57 22:52, 28 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your service! ^_^ Arief Azazie Zain (talk) 10:57, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
But I want not archived. Please give me unarchived. Arief Azazie Zain (talk) 10:58, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Done. No idea why the archive was added, as the site is still live. Number 57 21:03, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Most votes[edit]

I think the 96 million votes must be the highest received by any candidate in a democratic election anywhere ever, not just in Indonesia... isn't it? 82.36.68.79 (talk) 15:45, 27 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Number of seats[edit]

Could anyone find a reliable source for the exact number of seats? Does the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) receive 110 seats or 109 seats? RyanW1995 (talk) 11:36, 29 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
