I edited 2257 to stop redirecting here and instead to 18_USC_Section_2257 since it is more relevant and more likely to be looked for. If anyone has a major beef with this go ahead and change it back. Kugamazog

Red Dwarf: Lister may have been an 'enlightened 23rd Century man', but he was in statis for thousands of years before the series begins. DJ Clayworth 18:10, 23 Feb 2004 (UTC)

To whoever put it, I am sorry but Starcraft is not set in the 23rd century. If you look at the opening mission of the game it clearly states 2499 in the corner of the introductory screen. I am changing that.

Fact or myth??

Fact or myth: the world will end in 2240. 66.245.103.8 15:43, 7 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Myth. Voortle 01:31, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

Yeah, why would they think that anyway?--SuperSupermanwithmoresuper 15:25, 25 November 2006 (UTC)

Predictions

There seems to be some dispute over whether predictions such as:

  • Extraordinary wealth created throughout world from scientific/technological development, creating conditions where elimination of poverty being achieved and phasing out of money

should be in the article. There is a whole list of these at the moment. In my opinion these are not Verifiable. Wikipedia is an encyclopaedia and presents FACTS. We can't just put in random predictions without citing a source. There is no reason to believe that these things are true. As I see it there are two options:

1. Remove them altogether. (I prefer this)

2. Follow the Religious Predictions section and say "Joe Blogs has predicted that..."

To be clear, I am refering to the Scientific Predictions and Other Predictions sections. By contrast the Astronomical predictions are verifiable and the Religious predictions follow the number 2 model above. I am going to remove them again but am willing to discus. --Bucephalus talk to me 21:58, 7 November 2005 (UTC)

AFDed article now redirects here

2240s now redirects here; after its failed AFD, I took the editorial decision to redirect. If there's any content more knowledgeable editors think can be salvaged, the page history is always there. Johnleemk | Talk 09:18, 30 November 2005 (UTC)

Table

What's with that table in the end of the article? All of the years and decades I tried redirected here. I'm going to get rid of that and if anyone thinks that there is an important year to be mentioned do it somewhere else... VdSV9 20:33, 27 March 2006 (UTC)

All of the decade articles have that table at the end of them. Voortle 01:30, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

Centennials

Every single event in existence will have some sort of centennial this century. It's rediculous to note them here. As such, I am removing them. The Jade Knight 20:30, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

something to add

I have discovered that the mayan calender was miscaulated and that rather then ending in 2012 it ends in 2208 should this be mentioned —Preceding unsigned comment added by Thesonicfanofalltime (talkcontribs) 23:23, 27 October 2009 (UTC)
