Help![edit]

Need analysis, preferably by a violinist of each caprice. Could someone use the Grove's article? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Perlnerd666 (talkcontribs) 19:08, 12 May, 2008 (UTC)

Transcriptions[edit]

Should we mention that the caprices are often played in transcription, esp. for guitar? NeverWorker (Drop me a line) 09:03, 9 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sure, as long as we can write a decent-sized paragraph (or two) on them.
Don't forget Liszt's Grandes études de Paganini, either. :) —La Pianista 19:03, 7 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Study with Locatelli???[edit]

please verify this; Fernando Paer The Locatelli caprices were used as a model and even quoted in some cases.

Removal of audio files[edit]

I am curious why this edit removed audio files. Would you please explain, User:Epessina? Thanks.Anythingyouwant (talk) 08:19, 6 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Anythingyouwant:, I'm not particularly fond of those audio files, but as arrangements for saxophones are mentioned and as we have those files, I see no reason to exclude them. User:Epessina seems to dislike them, but they haven't engaged in any discussion here yet. The first edit summary provided in this matter just now was: "I think that posting an arrangement for saxophone in the PAGANINI 24 CAPRICES page is unuseful, other arrangements shall be of much more interest... This audio files link could be intended as merely self promotion. Thank you". It shows a remarkable lack of good faith and insinuates improper motives. Of course other, more traditional arrangements are of more interest, and Epessina is encouraged to include them, but there aren't many available at Commons. Until a consensus emerges to exclude the sax versions, I'm going to restore them to the article. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 10:13, 20 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
