I got the chance to serve briefly with 2/8 in Iraq, as OPCON security to one of their attachments. If I can find my references, I'll add in where they were stationed in Iraq: I want to say it was Camp Virginia and Camp North Carolina, but I can't remember for certain. • That would be great. I am not to up on the East Coast units. I'm an I MEF guy myself. Whatever you can do would be great.--Looper5920 09:29, 26 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Lebanon deployment[edit]

The Wikipedia article lists the 2/8 move to Lebanon as 1953. Actually, the Battalion was on standby status at Camp Lejeune and flew into Lebanon from Cherry Point in 1958. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.40.139.148 (talk) 00:02, 23 December 2006 (UTC).[reply]
