'My thoughts on this'[edit]

I wanted to start off by saying that I was in the 313th MI BN. It was more or less my first active duty assignment in the military. I also wanted to add what information I could about the 313th to Wikipedia's data base to help with the history of things on here. That and I'm curious to see if anyone else out in the Wiki world would find more information than I did portaining to this Battalion in the 82nd Airborne Division. That and I've also recently learned that the 313th is no more, that is was disbanded. Having the people in it sent to the different Brigades in the 82nd. So most likely I'm now going to see if they have an inactive unit list, and if not see what the higher ups in the Wiki world think about this. So all-in-all I really wanted to see what other people have to say about this and want to see if anyone else can find information that I haven't.

Thank you for your inclusion[edit]

I will try to do some more research for you - I just wikified the article and have no history with the military other than an interest in the subject matter. If you have any more information on the battles to add that would be cool. Markco1 20:04, 6 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Updates[edit]

Hello all, it looks like this page hasn't been updated since the battalion was inactivated in the wake of the BCT modularization. I'd like to do some updates to the page. I have previous experience as a unit historian and have some ideas concerning the right places to look for information. I'll check back here to see if anyone has any further input before I make any changes.Kintrix (talk) 11:25, 1 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Rewrite?[edit]

Is anyone watching this page? A 313th alumnus here from 1998-2004 and have been so bored during this COVID lockdown that I've recently started piddling around here on Wikipedia. So far I've done Deep Black (1986 book), The Bear Went Over the Mountain (1996 book), and The Other Side of the Mountain (1998 book).

As I was trying to finish reading the internet a few days ago, I tripped across some historical documents from the 215th Signal Depot Company in WWII. If I can read the chickenscratch at the top of the page, the docs were just declassified in December 2019? And as boring as this pandemic has been, they were a pretty good read. They weren't front line troops and it doesn't seem that the "Signal Depot Company" was a cover for some SIGINT platform; but they were solid soldiers who performed their roles magnificently in WWII. Maybe it seemed a benign unit so when the lineage was chosen for the ASA BN in 1955, it was kind of a cover in the reverse because the lineage would be unclass and available to the opposition during the Cold War who might initially overlook an electronics repair unit. Maybe. Plus, our 33-series guys are overlooked a lot by other MI types so we should all be a little humbled by being rooted in the 215th.

Anyways, if anyone doesn't object, I'd like to drop what I've got in the next few days. It's not stealing anyone's thunder and will include most of what's on here already, plus a little more. --R.M.Maruska (talk) 23:51, 15 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

313th CEWI in 1978[edit]

I was assigned to the "313th Combat Electronic Warfare and Intelligence" battalion attached to the 82nd Airborne from around Nov. 1977 until August 1978 when I ETS'd. I think it has that name around the time ASA became part of INSCOM. Not sure when it changed to something else. 2604:CA00:108:8692:0:0:61:E7EE (talk) 18:46, 18 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
