Hong Kong[edit]

Is the phone already available in Hong Kong? Kushal 18:50, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Reply: yes —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kentynet (talkcontribs) 10:30, 3 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

pay monthly capitalization?[edit]

Should pay monthly be Pay Monthly? The Skype website capitalizes it but I don't know whether it is a registered mark. Any ideas? Kushal 18:57, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Functionality confusion[edit]

This should be about the capability of the handset, not the service provided on it. So things like wither it supports skypein, is really whether the network supports this function. Perhaps we need a seperate section on the mobile skype service?

I've pruned back a lot of the service-related information from the page - seems relavent to your comment... Tr00st (talk) 22:37, 6 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

it has to be said..[edit]

this is one of the most poorly written articles on Wikipedia and it needs to be started from scratch. chocobogamer LOOK AT WHAT I DID 23:14, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

    • That's your opinion. If its so bad then why not help re-write it then instead of criticizing? It was originally created from sections of different information by user: kentynet, that is way it lacks some consistency. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.171.129.73 (talk) 11:11, 25 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A Question of Content[edit]

The "issues" part of the Skypephone seems to be mostly unverified and therefore questionable. Nokeyplc (talk) 07:27, 29 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have to say that I agree, just added a tag to it, as I'm not sure what to do about it... Tr00st (talk) 22:20, 6 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Being a skype phone user, I can verify all the issues, but the fact you can use skype-in in hong kong and the Vista support. Of course this isn't quite real evidence, but what else can I do about it? Ash-Fox (talk) 12:25, 13 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Just added a reference to the official FAQ on the Skype forums... Tr00st (talk) 17:13, 13 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair usage policy in the UK[edit]

I just removed the comments regarding a lack of FUP in the UK, as there seems to be one...

Just thought I should give a reason... Tr00st (talk) 22:14, 6 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Copied old talk page[edit]

Just took a copy of the talk page from Talk:Three Skypephone, to keep any discussions available to people who might edit in future... Tr00st (talk) 13:23, 8 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

S2 images / Splitting article[edit]

Two things to mention - first up, I've added tags about incorrect license listings for the two S2 images on this page, the Flickr sources seem to give incompatible[1] licenses... Also, I think the article could do with (once it's up to a good enough standard) being split into two - one for the S1, and one for the S2. I intend to attempt to bring the article up to standard and proceed with making separate articles (when I get round to it...), unless anyone objects... Seems to me that they're different enough phones to warrant different articles! Tr00st (talk) 00:25, 9 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

responce to splitting the article[edit]

I think the article should remain, talking about the series of phones as a whole, but put the details on the two individual models on seperate pages with links to the pages in the article describing the series as a whole.

I might do these changes myself once i've got time. I have the s1 myself and no much about the two models and the series as a whole.

Article split[edit]

I have split the article. This page needs improving though. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kentynet (talkcontribs) 11:14, 3 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Skypephone series is not discontinued[edit]

It's evident the series has not been discontinued:

--Ninniuz (talk) 13:33, 14 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

    • Yes, but that has been released for quite a while now, in the long run I think 3 are going to ditch it for the INQ phones. Also most phones on 3 now can run Skype as a J2ME app and the INQ (largely modelled on the 3 Skypephone) has it intergrated in the same way as the Skypephones do. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.171.129.73 (talk) 11:13, 25 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Skype functionality disabled![edit]

On January 20, 2011, iSkoot for Skype, the platform used on the Skypephone S2, has been shut down. Since April 2011, many users are greeted with the message: "Sorry, this version of Skype no longer works. Click here to see if there is an upgrade available for your phone" - no option is given to "Click Here" and the Skype functionality on the phone is essentially disabled. No warning was given by Three. This violates Three's own terms and conditions and the "Free Skype for life" promise leaving customers very angry and unable to use the arguably main functionality of this phone.
