Kadian Eccleston has better talent than Beyonce will have in a million years. So take that stupid Beyonce.

http://thelavalizard.com/2011/11/sneak-peek-beyonces-a-night-with-beyonce-special/

A Night With was recorded last summer at London's Fountain Studios with host Steve Jones and included stellar performances of some of her biggest hits from her previous albums and her new number one album, "4"! - Sunday 4th December 9:00pm Duration: 52 minutes - Special show in which global superstar Beyonce performs some of her best-known hits in front of an audience of her biggest fans. She will also take questions from the crowd.

She may have donned glammed up sexy looks for last night's special, but she also did something she's never really done. Beyonce did a segment of her performances for "A Night With Beyonce", which was an hour and 15 minute special hosted by "X Factor USA" presenter Steve Jones, in the this relaxed blue pajama-like pants and blouse. She rocked 2 Ralph & Russo looks for the performances, and the designers commented on this exclusive collaboration: "Beyonce’s performances are always so incredible and spectacular that we really wanted to design something very special to reflect this. Both outfits were created especially for the evening to create a fun but edgy feel to the show."

'4' was picked as one of the favorite albums of 2011 by MSN.co.uk. "We weren't sure about this the first time we heard it but now it's definitely one of our favourites of the year. With a more grown up sound than we're use to, Beyoncé stayed away from the safe, familiar sounds a lot of mainstream artists are choosing at the moment, went wild with Diplo for Run the World and stamped her empowering style all over it. With ballads pulled from the core of her heart, faster tracks to evoke the good times, and some perfectly judged mid-tempo tunes, this is a wonderful coming-of-age record from mum-to-be B." - MSN.co.uk http://music.uk.msn.com/features/msn-albums-of-the-year-2011#image=3 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.168.200.163 (talk) 13:34, 8 December 2011 (UTC)  Done

Associated Press - Best albums of 2011 3. "4," Beyonce: On paper, some may look at "4 as a disappointment; it had no big smash singles compared with Beyonce's past albums, and underperformed commercially. Artistically, though, it was a triumph. While she still had pulsating beats on songs like "Countdown" and "End of Time," Beyonce dialed down her typical bombast for ballads, and midtempo grooves still smoldered as she relied more on passion than girl power. http://abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/wireStory/surprise-adele-tops-aps-list-best-albums-15196937#.TvD3onrpzL9 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.168.190.124 (talk) 00:15, 21 December 2011 (UTC)

Q review

Q Magazine (UK) - Beyoncé '4' Album Review

At Glastonbury she dazzled; here she plays it safe. Asked to bet on which of this year's Glastonbury headliners would supply its defining "political" moment, it's unlikely anyone would have chosen Beyonce over seasoned collection-box rattlers U2 and Coldplay. Nonetheless she did, the Amazon-thighed diva's cover of Etta James's At Last against a civil rights montage climaxing in a salute to Barack Obama as simple as it was audibly soul-stirring among the crowd. The first female artist to headline the Pyramid Stage in more than 20 years, hers was in every sense a game-changing turn burying the last Luddite bleats insisting Glastonbury should never cater for mainsteam pop six feet under the Somerset mud.

Still, that historic performance wasn't without timely cunning, its high-camp feminist floorshow dazzing enough to cut her sufficient slck to repeatedly "play y'all something from my new record" out the weekend. So it's ironic that it, her fourth album, should act as a sovering reminder why anyone questioned her Glasto suitability in the first place: slickly produced, imbeccably sung, often beautiful but never venturing beyond safely established R&B horizons.

4's predecessor, 2008's I Am... Sasha Fierce, attempted reinvention with its Jekyll/Hyde format demonstating the two sides of Knowles, that of broken-heated balladeer and ring-demanding ballbreaker. While both return here, its the former who grabs the lioness' share of 4 from the opening 1+1, a stunning statement of betrothal marked by Beyonces rib-trembling power to leap octaves at the end of each line like a whistling kettle. Its breast-clutching tour de fource is matched by I Was Here, another potential funeral favourate from veteran songwriter Diane Warren (Toni Braxton, Celine Dion). Rather Die Young also pushes to the fore as a 21st century Shangri-Las; Knowles preffering the grave to a life without her "James Dean" lookalike boyfriend over a melody not so far from Massive Attack's Protection.

Yet this emphasis on balladry makes for an inevitably sluggish pace puntuated by too few breathers where her much-need "Fierce" self lets loose. Best Thing I Never Had delivers a fabulously breezy kick in the groin to he who dared wrong-do her ("I bet it sucks to be you right now"). The marvellous Run The World (Girls) sounds like Germaine Greers idea of The A-Team theme, a similar military rat-a-tat driving the equally infectious End Of Time. Less effective, if Countdown is forgivably daft fly-girl vaudeville ("Me and my boo in my boo coupe ridin'...") neither guests Andre 300 nor Kanye West can rescue the bland vibes permeating Party.

Back at Glastonbury, Beyonce said she'd "always wanted to be a rock star". That night she was, but as far as 4's comfortably accomplished R&B is concerned, she isn't fooling anyone.

Edit request

In the infobox, remove the December 12 date of Love On Top because it's false....it's not on Amazon UK nor iTunes UK....that date was just rumored, it was never confirmed....anyway, Love on top has yet to receive a separate digital or physical release...it was only sent for radio airplay in some countries....there is no secondary source to prove that it was digitally released on that date....so, remove the December 12 date from the infobox.....

Also, in the header, it says:

Preceding the album's release, lead single "Run the World (Girls)" was released for digital download worldwide on April 21, 2011. The single was rushed for release after an early demo leaked on April 18, 2011. "Best Thing I Never Had" was released on June 1, 2011, as the album's second single. "Countdown" was released as the third single in the US, it was sent to US mainstream and rhythmic radio on October 4, 2011, while "Party" was released as the album's third urban single in the US on October 24, 2011. "Love on Top" was released in the UK on December 12, 2011.

Remove the "Love on Top was released in the UK on December 12, 2011" part per the same reason above, false date. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Felangie jessica (talkcontribs) 01:15, 15 December 2011 (UTC)

"Party"

How come "Party" was removed from the single sequence? It was a radio single and I have sources to prove it. Even if it didn't have a cover for the album version that was played on the radio, it was still a single. I mean, look at "Raining Men". It didn't have any cover art and it was a radio single.

BEYONCÉ CELEBRATES THE NEW YEAR!! Beyoncé joins Dick Clark's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest in counting down to the New Year with a special performance of "I Was Here". Singles

Party is one of the singles and Love On Top was not. Love On Top was scheduled to be released as a single due to its debuting at #20 on the Hot 100, but was scrapped after falling to #70 the next week. Party was announced as the 3rd single from '4' in August. I cannot confirm whether the single was scrapped, but it performed very well on the Urban format and was then released to iTunes as a remix with J. Cole on October 24th, 2011. The single order should be "1. Run The World (Girls) April 21, 2011 2. Best Thing I Never Had June 1, 2011, 3. Countdown October 4, 2011, 4. Party October 24, 2011.

It's useless to include this topic in the page. No tour was ever announced, and that quote about doing an extensive tour was not only not made by her, but also it was made more than a year ago before she had her baby, and now according to Ryan Tedder she's planning her new record and since fall 2011 she's no longer promoting "4". Next single.

Do we have any information of a sixth and possibly final single from this album? I heard "I Was Here" may be the next single and released this month. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.100.35.159 (talk) 17:25, 4 August 2012 (UTC)

End of Time and official sales

I belong to an internet forum called atrl.net Many Beyonce fans commune there. The point is, "End of Time" was never released as a single in the United States, and only in the United Kingdom. Many people in her fanbase were expecting a US release, but it never materialized. I can give you my word that this happened. It should be pretty obvious considering that there have never been any American radio updates for that song.

Most, importantly, I feel that article should only highlight songs that were released as single in the US and worldwide. Songs released as singles only in certain countries should not be highlighted. "I Care" was an Italian single. "I Was Here" was an Australian single. Those are not highlighted. "End of Time" is only a UK single and therefore should not be highlighted. "Run The World (Girls)", "Best Thing I Never Had", "Countdown" and "Love On Top" are all US/worldwide singles and should be left there. Thank you! :)

Also UKMix is a website that provides sales statistics on albums sales. These statistics come from www.musicharts.net and mediatraffic. "4" is now at 1,205,300 in the US and 2,700,000 worldwide. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Smithclark15 (talkcontribs) 21:31, 17 August 2012 (UTC)

Article Size

Who's brave enough to start pruning the 183 odd KB of information? :/ — Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk] 23:49, 1 September 2012 (UTC)

Might I suggest pruning the music composition/songs/lyrics as every song on the album has its own page? — Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk] 23:54, 1 September 2012 (UTC)
I agree. I'll try and start pruning somewhat this week. Most of her articles are littered with unnecessary information.--CallMeNathanTalk2Me 03:40, 2 September 2012 (UTC)
Alot of this information is just ridiculous. A 4 paragraph section about the album's name and artwork? 10 paragraphs about the promotion? What is the direct purpose of the self-management subsection; it could be summarized in a sentence or two. Alot of Beyonce related articles have an abundance of unnecessary information, but this is absurd. And a number of editors have attempted to cut the article down but nothing is getting done... We still have a long way to go, but I've cleaned up/removed a lot of the unnecessary filler in some of these sections. I've merged the self-management into the background section, background and development are merged into one, composition has been condensed a bit (still a lot more to be done with this one), shortened titling/artwork, and removed a lot of unneeded info (ie. what she was wearing) in the marketing/promotion section. Hope this has helped some, WikiRedactor (talk) 22:31, 5 February 2013 (UTC)
