reason for 6th October City[edit]

Yes, according to this site: http://cairo.wantedinafrica.com/area_description.php?id_area=379 Additionally may I just explain my alteration of the population. 6th October city is nowhere near 12 million in size, and the Robert Fisk article quotes an exceptionally unreliable source. Cairo itself is only 7.7million! Additionally, one of the sources actually states that it is 500,000 and not 9-12million at all and was thus spurious. Wow, this is by far one of the worst articles about Egypt. It needs a lot of work. I would love to improve it but I do not have any information about that city that could be used in its article. Abdallah (talk) 19:56, 20 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"Pioneering role in satellite television" ??[edit]

Can someone explain this statement in the article? With a qualifier such as "in Africa" or perhaps "in the Muslim world" I might be more inclined to give it some credence, but as it stands it seems ... the word "delusional" comes to mind. Telstar, Intelsat and Orbita were launched in the 1960s; Nilesat 1 went up in the 1990s. (Actually, I just double-checked, and the Saudi company Arabsat had a bird up in the mid-80s, so Egypt isn't even a pioneer as far as Muslim countries go.) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.105.71.75 (talk) 23:55, 21 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
