However, that opinion is not supported by the sources used as references in the article. There is a 2002 article pointing to a set of file in an Bavarian archive which mentions a "707. Sicherungsdivision" (Lieb 2002, p.531 Fn44). A German "707th Security Division" is indeed mentioned in a 1950 pamphlet (No. 20-230) , which seems to be at the root of this erroneous view. There briefly was a 707th Security Battalion in 1942 though.
