User MisterMitsubishi[edit]

I'm trying to clear up the 7HO FM page so it only includes info that is relevant to the station. User MisterMitsubishi insists on adding hurtful and false info about one of the former hosts families that appears to be a personal attack and could constitute harassment of the individuals mentioned. Sigh. I happen to know the individuals involved very well so this is accurate. Don't try to whitewash what happened to make the station look good. As it happens, I have been very objective and limited myself to a few key facts. I agree, though, that if Richard Moore had his own page, it would be better included there then on a page about the radio station in general. MisterMitsubishi (talk) 22:38, 24 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

This is discussed in some detail on Talk:Bob Cooke (DJ). The issue is the lack of sources to cite. Although it is definitely common knowledge around Hobart I can't find instances of the media reports on it. MisterMitsubishi (talk) 00:25, 9 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@MisterMitsubishi and Trimways: MisterMitsubishi this is a simple and well settled matter. You may not include any controversial material about living persons (whether positive or negative) without citing highly reliable, published, secondary sources supporting the addition per the biographies of living persons policy. Note also that once material in an article is challenged, it may not be returned to an article unless you cite such references using inline citations. Please see WP:BURDEN. Here, even if such citations were found, I'm not sure it would not be undo weight to include this material anyway, as it is quite peripheral even if true (though noting this is probably immaterial since it you have stated no good sources exist). In sum then, even if this material would be appropriate to include if good sources existed, which is unclear, you must not return it without citing such excellent sources using inline citations in conjunction. User Trimways[edit]

User Trimways has been deleting the Cooke and Moore section of the article repeatedly in recent days. Until they desist or are blocked, I am copying that section here as a holding place:

The below post re Cooke and Moore Show has been edited as per: ^[1]. Specifically: "Unsourced or poorly sourced contentious material about living persons — whether the material is negative, positive, or just questionable — should be removed immediately and without waiting for discussion, from Wikipedia articles, talk pages, user pages, and project space." Cooke and Moore Show[edit]

The station's breakfast comedy show was for many years hosted by Bob Cooke and Richard Moore.^[2] The show started in 1982.^[3] Cooke retired in the late 1990s and became a hobbyist woodworker. Moore retired some years later. Prior to working together on the radio show, Cooke and Moore had hosted a television show for children on Hobart's TVT-6 and performed as a stage act.^[4]

The Cooke and Moore Show's style of comedy was consistently lowbrow and was very similar to that of Daryl Somers during his tenure as the host of Hey Hey It's Saturday. Cooke and Moore also played a number of fictional character on-air, including Mickey Finn and Knocker Knowles (a shady used car salesman and his dim-witted, former AFL footballer accomplice), Vinnie and the V8s (a group of middle-aged men living out their fantasy of being 1950s-style rock stars), Whimmo the Wonder Clown and the R-Rated Cowboy.^[5] Much of Cooke and Moore's humour involved general banter between them in the guises of their various characters. Their humour also characteristically featured heavy use of crudeness and sexual double-entendres.
