Something does not jive?[edit]

"The 910th Air Refueling Squadron is an inactive unit of the United States Air Force. In 1985, it was consolidated with the 10th Tactical Reconnaissance Squadron and the 310th Attack Squadron, but has not been active since consolidation.......The 310th Attack Squadron was activated at England Air Force Base, where it trained for deployment to Viet Nam, in 1969. Shortly after it arrived at Bien Hoa Air Base it was inactivated and its personnel and equipment transferred to another unit.

Done Text edited to include statement that the squadron was inactivated when SAC left Bergstrom --Lineagegeek (talk) 21:59, 17 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

This is what the intro text says to me with particular questions about what is what toward the end:

"The 910th Air Refueling Squadron is just one segment of the history of various now inactive units of the United States Air Force.

The first predecessor of the squadron was activated in 1942 as the 10th Observation Squadron, performed antisubmarine patrols off the Pacific coast.

As the 10th Tactical Reconnaissance Squadron, it briefly saw combat in the European Theater of World War II before returning to the United States for inactivation [WHERE/WHEN].

Reactivated as the 910th Air Refueling Squadron of the Strategic Air Command (SAC) unit that provided air refueling for SAC bombers from Bergstrom Air Force Base, Texas from 1958 to 1966, when SAC withdrew from Bergstrom and the squadron was inactivated.

Activated as the 310th Attack Squadron at England Air Force Base, Alexandria, Louisiana where it trained for deployment to Bien Hoa Air Base, Viet Nam, in 1969. Shortly after its arrival at it was inactivated and its personnel and equipment transferred to another unit. [WHICH UNIT]

In 1985, it was consolidated with the 10th Tactical Reconnaissance Squadron [IS THIS CURRENT OR HAS IT BEEN INACTIVATED]

and the 310th Attack Squadron, [IS IT POSSIBLE TO HAVE THE 310 CONSOLIDARED WITH THE 310 SINCE IT HAPPENED IN 1985. THERE IS A CIRCLE HERE INSTEAD OF A LINE OF PROGRESSION?]

but has not been active since consolidation."

A group can be inactivated and its assets and personnel transferred/consolidated with others but then that group from which it came no longer exists although those assets/personnel may function as that group/unit under a different name therefore can a group that no longer exists have consolidation with itself? There is some internal understanding that is not making it to the explanation.

310 inactivated in Viet Name in 1969.
