Other sources[edit]

Ok. This site seems to have a lot of conflicting and wrong information about many things. Here's a link with conflicting information:

http://www.bharat-rakshak.com/IAF/Aircraft/Missiles/SA-16.html

Service[edit]

Why does it say "Entered service - 1990s" in the infobox, when the rest of the text gives 1981 and 1983 as service entry dates?

Also check out this link: http://www.everything2.com/index.pl?node_id=1710251&lastnode_id=0 It says: "The SA-16 was also introduced this year (1986). This was the full development of the SA-18."

Reload[edit]

Is it reloadable? Which is the feed mechanism?? --201.141.211.189 (talk) 00:01, 21 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Igla is not reloadable as a such. Empty launch tubes may be recycled and reused, however. Humu (talk) 06:45, 15 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

SA-18 in czech army[edit]

Czech army doesn't use SA-18. It is not listed in czech inventory and especially during acquiring RBS-70 it was many time mentioned that only older man-portable system in czech inventory is Strela-2M (SA-7B). I really don't know where somebody find info about SA-18 used by czech army.PN79 (talk) 13:18, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Compared to 9K34 Strela-3[edit]

So, all things considered, is this a better system than 9K34 Strela-3? Aldrich Hanssen (talk) 11:44, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Comparison to Stinger[edit]

Does anyone have a source regarding the Stinger's engagement envelope? I find it very hard to believe that a missile that has a maximum speed of 700-750m/s is capable of engaging a receding target flying at approximately the same speed, especially since the Igla, Igla-1 and Strela-3 can only engage targets flying at roughly half their respective meximum speeds. 142.151.138.146 (talk) 05:04, 9 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Above[edit]

Yes it's right, if you look here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FIM-92_Stinger you won't find anything. I thing someone just wrote something wrong. pls correct !! --93.193.90.132 (talk) 17:28, 2 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ranges?[edit]

In the comparision table some values are "contraditve": How might it be possible that a target the missile has to chase may be faster than a closing target?

Is it possible that the values were just switch? --95.222.188.204 (talk) 18:48, 24 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

History Section[edit]

While doing 'cite.needed' clean-up, I discovered the claim made in the 'History Section' vis 9K38 not being derived from earlier missiles, to be contradicted by 2 other independent sources.[1][2] Perhaps, the author can supply the cite or rewrite accordingly, as I have limited knowledge of the subject.Bjhodge8 (talk) 22:25, 4 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Map imperfections[edit]

The "Map with SA-16 operators in blue" does not show Botswana as current operator (the article itself does). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A02:8440:531D:1D5:230B:71D9:ADE7:21C1 (talk) 16:41, 16 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
