Claim to be oldest bomb squadron[edit]

The lead formerly stated that the squadron was the oldest bomb squadron in the air force. The squadron was not active as a bombardment squadron until 1931, prior to which units of the 2d and 7th Bombardment Groups, 4th, 5th and 6th Composite Groups had been active. As for lower numbered squadrons currently active, the 1st and 5th Reconnaissance Squadrons and the 8th Special Operations Squadron have all been bombardment squadrons. In addition, the 13th Bomb Squadron was formed the same day as the 9th at Camp Kelly, so it is not the oldest even if the statement were modified to include "currently active." --Lineagegeek (talk) 11:52, 30 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

List of commanders[edit]

Removed the list of commanders. It's too long and detailed for an encyclopedia article and does not agree with the infobox. If any are notable, they can be mentioned in the appropriate section of the narrative and listed in the notable commanders entry in the infobox.
