Need more information[edit]

This article is lacking some rather important information. Unfortunately, none of my sources cover it - they just discuss Beattie's role as Chief Mechanical Engineer. The information most desperately needed is:

  • Beattie's dates of birth and death.
  • Where Beattie was from. The best I have is D. B. Leitch's book, which states that Beattie's successor was the first New Zealander to be Chief Mechanical Engineer, meaning Beattie can't have been born in New Zealand.
  • What Beattie did before he became Chief Mechanical Engineer, if it is of note.

If anyone can find that information and add it to the article, that would be excellent! - Axver 09:49, 23 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
