I passed through to clear out the CSD backlog, and am wondering: How does this article qualify for CSD A7? One two three... 04:23, 20 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

How does it show that the company is significant or important? Nothing in the article clearly demonstrates that to me, and there are no reliable independent sources which would help to show that anyone considers them to be significant or important. I am willing to be persuaded, but as it stands I'm not seeing the significance of this company - they make replica firearms (not "significant"), they were founded in 1969 (not "significant"), they manufacture frames, cylinders, and barrels for several other companies, some of which are notable (not "significant" - notability is not inherited). There is not even a claim of importance here! As such, it seemed to me a clear A7 candidate.
I am considering taking this to AfD in a week or so ("Holidays are coming" as Coca-Cola so kindly remind us...) but would be interested in hearing something of the company's significance (and some addition to the article to help this would be nice too!).

It is, at least in europe, one of the top three quality muzzle-loader and replica firearms manufacturers (after Pedersoli and Chiappa). It may not be significant for anyone outside of re-enactment, marksmanship or replicas; this can be said for ALL topics in the wikipedia, however, that they are not significant for someone (e.g., I couldn't care less for all the casting shows). This article is a stub, and meets the criteria for stubs. AfD may be considered, but Speedy Deletion is WAY over the top here. --79.204.115.225 (talk) 11:31, 26 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
PS: Uberti is a Beretta subsidiary. Beretta is significant and important. There is no reason whatsoever to put it into the Beretta article; that's against the concept of Hypertext the web is based on (short files inter-linking). I see this as enough to prove the significance of it. But we'll see what AfD will yield. --79.204.115.225 (talk) 11:45, 26 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

KEEP - Uberti's notability is relative. As the IP user mentions, outside of re-enacting or the shooting sports that rely on reproduction of "old guns" (i.e. cowboy action shooting, quick draw competitions, etc.), its probably not significant. But within these worldwide communities, its one of the most significant reproduction firearm companies on the planet.

They were originally independent and crafted most of the guns used in the entire "spaghetti western" movie genre. Pretty much every western filmed in Italy used Uberti guns. I don't have a reference for that off the top of my head, but I know its been mentioned in Old West magazine, American Rifleman, and the S.A.S.S. Cowboy Chronicle. Currently they are owned by Benelli, they were sold by Beretta. If two of the largest gun manufacturers in the industry have owned the same company, that should make it noteworthy as well.

I've toured the factory in Gardone V.T. near Brescia, Italy and have photos that I can upload to Commons if it helps.--Scalhotrod - Just your average banjo playing, drag racing, cowboy...
