Deletion?

[edit]

I started this page using text removed from the software system page. The text I moved largely consisted of a quote, which caused it to get flagged by the CorenSearchBot. So I attempted to convert the quote to a proper cited quote, using the award description on the Nobel Prize page as a model. -- User_talk:Nealcardwell

I think this award is significant. There are at least 35 pages at Wikipedia that mention this award - http://www.google.com/search?q=%22software+system+award%22+site%3Awikipedia.org - and furthermore the recipient projects are all major accomplishments in the field of computer science or the computer software industry. Most of the individuals that are involved already have wikipedia articles, further indicating the importance of these accomplishments.

Hi, Nealcardwell! Currently there's a "prod" on the article. Take a look at WP:PROD to see what that's about. Basically, you have two options - leave it alone or remove it. If you remove it, someone may send the article to "Articles for Deletion" to discuss the article's notability and such. They're going to look for stated notability - why the article should stay on Wikipedia. Your best bet is to find reliable sources that talk about the award and why it's important.
If you leave the tag alone, without improving the article, someone may just speedily delete it.
Either way, the {{hangon}} tag now does nothing and shouldn't be put on the article.
Hope that helps! -- SatyrTN (talk | contribs) 04:05, 24 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Reformat to Table

[edit]

I propose changing the format of the Receipants to be in a table. This should make it easier to read the names of the technologies and allow for references to be in a column to the right. Let me know if there are any objections before I make the change. - DutchTreat (talk) 12:36, 27 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
