I'm removing the speedy deletion tag because I don't think there is any clear violation of WP:CSD#G11 (advertising). If there are POV issues with this article, they most certainly are not "blatant." There is no evidence of a conflict of interest, the information seems fairly objective and there is no clear bias, and the company seems fairly notable, or at least borderline. If you don't like this article, please take it to the AfD forum. — xDanielxTalk 04:55, 9 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This is an advertisement for angel learning system. I came here to see unbiased information about Angel LMS and what I found was a simple advertisement. boooo.

my issues with this advertisement article:

  • There are no references, anywhere.
  • "...and includes an easy SQL inquiry tool..." says who?
  • the entire products section reads like advertisement copy
  • the open source section is entirely misleading. open API's and database schema != open source. Here, go learn about open source
  • the external links are unorganized and read like press releases.

Look, I have no problem with Angel LMS being on wikipedia (just look at moodle, Blackboard Inc. etc). What I hagghghfghgve a problem with is a wikipedia page being used as an advert. I'll be editing and I warmly welcome any feedback or conversation here. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bmackenty (talkcontribs) 16:27, 26 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed, this article reads like an advertisement, so I tagged it as such. See the Mathworks article for what I think of as a reasonable corporate article.

  • There should be an infobox that tells me where the company is, when it was started, who are the key people and how many employees it has. Some of this info is in the body of the article, but an infobox would help.
  • The product line description reads like an advertisement and should be removed or shortened and specific citations added.
  • The references are puff pieces that seem like press releases. Are there any non-web sources we can use, or at least mainstream, well known business sources (Business Week, WSJ etc.)
  • Do the service awards really matter? Is this significant information? One of the service awards is from IMS Global, whose wiki article is also tagged like an advertisement.

I'm willing to help here, but I'd probably shorten the product descriptions, add an infobox and find better references. Cxbrx (talk) 06:21, 12 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I did some work on this entry. I added an info box as you suggest Cxbrx, although the company doesn't publish sales and employment figures anywhere on their website. I also edited the product descriptions some, taking out what sounded like promotional info. In term some of your other comments Cxbrx:

  • While there aren't any mainstream business sources sited, Campus Technology and T.H.E. Journal are pretty definitive sources for the educational community.
  • I would also argue that the service awards do matter. If you follow some of higher educational community blogs, there's a fair amount of chatter around the lack of support for some of these types of products. Good service seems to be an important matter. —Preceding unsigned comment added by TheFezOn (talkcontribs) 17:17, 14 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks TheFezOn, your changes look good! The article feels less like an advertisement now. Cxbrx (talk) 14:05, 15 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Waters: Independent third party?[edit]

Both of the "best" notability references seem to be written by John K. Waters, and it looks like he has a website: http://www.watersworks.com/. "Freelance" can often mean "paid to write about something" so I have some suspicion that he may be a paid promoter for the company and its products. Can anyone comment on that possibility? Jclemens (talk) 16:30, 8 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It is doubtful that T.H.E. Journal publishes editorial submitted by companies. Look at Waters' contributions to the publication. It appears that he is hired by the publication to do feature articles on a variety of topics. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dcapitald (talkcontribs) 12:29, 9 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hamilton Southeastern is one of the best school districts in the country.[edit]

ANGEL Learning is most popularly used by the Hamilton Southeastern (HSE) School district. Hamilton Southeastern is one of the best school districts in the country. Students in HSE can connect with teachers during and after school. What's that I see? Advertising for a school? I can't rollback the changes (it keeps failing).
