This section is almost entirely fiction or wishful thinking, unsupported by any evidence whatsoever. I would delete, but you'd simply see vandalism and restore it. Please review and think about it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.41.95.231 (talk) 11:20, 31 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

ISO?[edit]

What's an ISO on this page? Independent sales organization? Someone who knows, please explain in the article and provide the hyperlink. – gpvos (talk) 20:50, 10 February 2007 (UTC)

I was just wondering the same thing. In response, I've added the clean-up template to the article. (See Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style#Acronyms_and_abbreviations). --Miken2005 05:08, 11 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Someone removed the clean-up template, apparently without first checking here to see why it was there, so I've put up the abbreviations template instead. --Miken2005 23:16, 4 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Before surcharging was allowed[edit]

In the US section, the article quotes: "Before surcharging was allowed in 1996, ATM fees averaged $1.01 USD nationally, according to a 2001 report ..." But what does that mean? Is there a difference between surcharges and fees? A clarification would help. Asiir 12:55, 22 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Bangladesh article - to be removed?[edit]

The paragraph on Bangladesh does not deal at all with ATM usage fees in Bangladesh - it only promotes a certain bank (the Dutch-Bangla Bank) and talks about the services provided to its customers, as if other banks did not exist. Its language is also barely understandable. If no valid objection or correction is made I will remove the Bangladesh paragraph altogether.

Outdated and misleading[edit]

Rules are being introduced that will force banks to levy equal fees for customers of all banks in the European Union. This may mean national fees become higher. See Single Euro Payments Area.

Now as the article immediately after that points out, these rules are already in effect for many years. And the conclusion that national fees could become higher is totally unsubstantiated (or at least very misleading) as the EU regulation only governs payments between EU member states but not the fees charged to domestic customers, so the EU can only control the fee when you are using a ATM in another EU country than your bank resides in. This has led to the curious situation that in fact the fee can be higher for domestic use, but this is as pointed out not in any way due to the EU regulation but vice-versa the EU regulation had forced the banks to take lower prices from foreign (EU) customers. -- 62.143.127.38 (talk) 21:19, 10 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
