Box office failure

That's original research if you add that without citing a source. You can't draw your own conclusions. Nothing is in the article stating it was a box office fialure, or any kind of "failure". Provide a source to include that statement. Mike Allen 19:36, 9 January 2023 (UTC)

Sonya's death

Of what does Sonya die? The bus accident caused her to lose the baby and become wheelchair bound, but I'm not clear about the cause of her death. Neither is the plat summary in this article. --Christofurio (talk) 11:52, 19 April 2023 (UTC)

note on dating mistake

Hi, I was trying to add a note indicating that the filmmakers screwed up big time, and the birthdates on the gravestone are 1955, which would make Sonya and Otto 9 when they met in 1964. This was removed for being trivial, but I don't see how it's trivial, it's a crucial mess up in a major motion picture. Any thoughts? 174.66.78.131 (talk) 20:46, 11 May 2023 (UTC)

Truman Hanks is Tom's son

The only reference I have that the Truman Hanks in the film is indeed Tom Hanks' son and not someone else with the same name is Tom Hanks' appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers. There's a clip of it on YouTube. 2607:F470:E:22:38B5:4383:D628:FC65 (talk) 13:03, 11 August 2023 (UTC)

Coming out trans?

Malcolm in the film was an amalgamation of Adrian (bike) and Mirsad (gay) in the novel and the Swedish film. I get that changes occur from book to film, and from Swedish audiences to American audiences. What I don't get is Malcolm being secretly trans as far as his father is concerned but out to everybody else. In the novel Mirsad finally comes out to his father, gets kicked out, and Ove takes him in. (And since Mirsad's father owes Ove big-time, it was easy for Ove to arrange a reconciliation.)

Are there any reviews talking about this? Otto's wife Sonya took the lead in promoting her student's gender identification.
