Please strive for balanced and neutral editing, not personal points of view[edit]

It is concerning that several users have continued to delete well-cited, well-referenced content to reliable sources in favor of biased and partial information from fewer sources and opinion pieces. Editors, please keep in mind Wikipedia's policies regarding Biographies of Living Persons and especially the criteria for Reliable Sources https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Identifying_reliable_sources

This page should reflect in brief form the breadth and significance of Aaron Betsky's work, not simply reiterate the views of several random columnists. Thank you, GordonStrong (talk) 15:24, 25 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Editors, please note Wikipedia's policy on citing opinion columnists vs. published editorials. In case of the former, including several examples contributed to this page by other users, please do not use the mantle of Huffington Post or Forbes magazine to lend extra credibility to the views of individual opinions written by independent contributors to those magazines' online forums.
It seems strange to continue to insist on the primacy of the sentence, "Some of Betsky's opinions have been questioned as "out of touch."[12]" when the cited source [1] is a minor blog (Aaron Betsky is a major author) and this source does not even use the phrase "out of touch" in the body of the blog post. Again, is this just sloppy editing or an attempt to promote a biased point of view? Editors please take care to follow Wikipedia guidelines, thanks

Dear editors, it seems some editors continue to add quotes from dubious 3rd party sources. I have removed the quote attributed to non-reliable blog source, "UrbanCincy," which is a local opinion piece that not meet Wikipedia's guidelines for reliable sources. Recent edits on this page appear to intentionally violate Wikipedia's WP:BLP biography of living persons guidelines, specifically WP:NPOV (neutral point of view) and WP:NOR (no original research). User KRM:4069 edited the intro top paragraph to express a personal opinion or interpretation that is clearly disparaging to the subject. A sentence that begins with the word "Ironically...." is by definition interpretative, and not appropriate for the lead paragraph of a WP:BLP living persons page. The citation provided a fig leaf cover of legitimacy for a disparaging comment disguised as a neutral observation. GordonStrong (talk) 01:22, 19 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I periodically check this page because it has been vandalized on occasion, with violations of the BLP policy, non-encyclopedic asides, and critical citations apparently selected to skew the subject. Betsky's views on sustainable architecture[edit]

Editors of this page, please note that Aaron Betsky has engaged quite a bit on issues of sustainable architecture and design, so this page cannot over-simplify the matter by saying that Betsky opposes sustainable design. That is inaccurate. What is verifiably true is that he opposed the particular interpretation of sustainable architecture promoted by the AIA's COTE awards. But it is also verifiably true that Betsky, in his published writing, has repeatedly promoted the conservation of environmental resources and questioned the need for resource-intensive new building projects. For some reason several editors have deleted all references to the conservation aspect, so that Betsky is incorrectly made to appear antagonistic to environmental concerns.
