CrystalCherry Rumor, not a rumor

it's important, very important, they appear to be consuming alcohol.

The only really important relationships this guy had - i.e. ones that the media reported on - was the Lohan/Duff thing. Even if this isn't a rumour, this is hardly big news enough and there is certainly no reason to put up a picture as big as that and as inappropriate as that one.Vulturell 06:57, 30 October 2005 (UTC)

Ultimate Showdown?

What would be the best place to talk about how Aaron Carter was mentioned in "Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny," a recent comedy song by Neil Cicierega with a cult Internet following? There's no Trivia section.

There's a Trivia section now ^_~. I'll add it for you. Thanks for pointing it out.BoyliciousDarian 04:13, 8 February 2006 (UTC)

Near-Death Experiences

Should numerous near death experiences be mentioned? One from where he almost drowned as a toddler, and one where he ran over a mattress?

Yes, those should be added. They are events which (one imagines) had significant impact on him, and since reliable sources exist for information on those events, I don't see any reason why they shouldn't be added to the article. If you'd like, you can add them yourself, or if you don't want to for whatever reason, let me know here and I'd be happy to put something together myself.BoyliciousDarian 12:44, 19 February 2006 (UTC)

Removal of Images

Why were the images removed? They were identified as having been obtained from other internet sites. This is no different from other similar images found in other articles. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 143.183.121.1 (talk) 17:37, 23 March 2006 (UTC)

Height

Height and weight are not "interests" of Aaron and are not encyclopedic, so I took them out. Besides, Aaron is 5' 10"-5' 11" not 6' 0.5" and this is pretty obvious from recent (2006) photos of him. Stephe1987 01:24, 29 March 2006 (UTC)

Albums

I am moving this here, because these really belong on the individual pages for Carter's albums - which we do not yet have on Wikipedia. So here is the information for those who would like to create Wiki pages for his albums:

Album Sales

"Aaron's Party (Come Get It)"

  • Week 1: 70,000 (70,000)
  • Week 2: 57,000 (127,000)
  • Week 3: 41,000 (168,000)
  • Week 4: 39,000 (207,000)
  • Week 5: 33,000 (240,000)
  • Week 6: 34,000 (274,000)
  • Week 7: 48,000 (322,000)
  • Week 8: 49,000 (369,000)
  • Week 9: 86,000 (455,000)
  • Week 10: 81,000 (536,000)
  • Week 11: 98,000 (634,000)
  • Week 12: 123,000 (757,000)

The album sold very well throughout Christmas 2000 and reappeared in the Top 50 in 2001. The album was by far his most successful and has sold nearly 1.5 million copies to date.

"Oh Aaron"

  • Week 1: 133,000 (133,000)
  • Week 2: 77,000 (210,000)
  • Week 3: 59,000 (269,000)
  • Week 4: 45,000 (314,000)
  • Week 5: 30,000 (344,000)
  • Week 6: 28,000 (372,000)
  • Week 7: 25,000 (397,000)

The album was a far cry from Aaron's first album, and even though this album debuted only a couple months after his first album left the charts, it was still a dissapointment despite the solid first-week sales. The album only went Gold and has sold about 600,000 copies to date.

"Another Earthquake"

  • Week 1: 41,000 (41,000)
  • Week 2: 23,000 (64,000)

This album only stayed in the Top 50 for two weeks and was a HUGE cry from even Oh Aaron and to date has only sold 100,000 copies. You can definitly tell that with this album, Aaron's success was waning.

"Most Requested Hits"

The album did not make the Top 50 and only sold about 50,000 copies to date. Aaron definitly needs a huge comeback to save his music career. Mad Jack 06:07, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

Just out of curiosity, why did you remove the section on the Ultimate Showdown? Most other people featured in Ultimate Showdown have information about it posted in their wikis. BoyliciousDarian 09:32, 19 July 2006 (UTC)

New Album Rumours

Aaron IS currently working on a new album, but there is no release date, no single date, and no video shoot scheduled. I removed 2 paragraphs referring to the new album. One referenced House of Carters, but no release date was ever specified on the show, it only showed him recoding parts of songs. Monica 22.49 19 April 2007 UTC

Article Needs Major Improvements

This article is pretty terrible. The only good thing about it is probably the infobox. There needs to be a discography instead of some tiny little paragraph about a charity single with Michael Jackson... and the page needs to be at least semi-protected, as it keeps being continually vandalised. I would never have enough time to improve the article, nor am I too keen in reverting it to a previous version, as amongst all of the reverting and vandalism there are probably some good edits that I don't want to get rid of, and some information that is obviously false... Hip Hop

Oh come on... if you want to take his rap seriously, fine. It is an encyclopedia after all. But at least categorize this in "american rappers" not "american hip hop artists". --Nick Roberts 13:24, 13 March 2007 (UTC)

He's not a hip hop singer. there is no such thing hip hop is rap so that in itself is inaccurate

Vandalism?

Not sure but it doesn't exactly sound real to me. I didn't remove but I'll leave it for someone to judge:

"In 2006, Aaron's older brother Nick Carter decided to start a reality show on E! called "House of Carters" reuniting all the Carter siblings in one house. A spat between Nick and Aaron over Paris Hilton has been caught at the start of this new TV series. During the fight, Aaron claimed that Nick did not care about his feelings saying, "You don't give a s*** about me or what I have to go through. I tried to come out to you but you did not care or even take me seriously!" Whether this comment was said in truth or if it was simply a burst of confusion from the argument is unknown." —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 74.112.115.148 (talk) 03:52, 4 February 2007 (UTC).

  • I've re-watched that entire scene several times trying to confirm this, but the truth is the scene is very heavily edited, and it is tough to make out what is being said by either brother because they are both screaming the whole time. It's possible this is true, but I wasn't able to confirm it. BoyliciousDarian 03:41, 5 February 2007 (UTC)
  • I removed it AGAIN because it wasn't said in the manner alleged. The only thing you hear from Aaron that "I've tried..." or "I try..." So if I may speculate a bit, it seems that the person posting it is simply trying to stir up a rumour of homosexuality and is more speculation than fact.

House of Carters

"House of Carters" shows Aaron to be petty, rude, an underage drinker, totally defiant of authority, and not someone most people would like to be around. His talent is marginal, and in 10 years (if he lives that long), he'll be a has-been. I hope he gets his act together and someday makes a real contribution to society. If he was my kid, he'd never be allowed to talk back like that and use that kind of language.

He already is a has-been. TrevorLSciAct 00:00, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
I think people mis understand his behaviour. I think he acts the way he does, because theres a lot of hurt, but you can certainly tell hes a good person.
just a quick comment on the above: He's a good person but went through hell growing up. Remember to that Jane and Bob (parents dearest) were busy with Nick's career; the other 4 kids could pretty much what they wanted. And finally, You saw less than 30 mins once a week (less than 3 airtime hours) of a couple months worth of filming. You only saw they Aaron (and BJ, Angel, Leslie, and Nick) that production, management, and other execs decided. Bsbfan4alex 02:11, 31 March 2007 (UTC)

I thought he has problems with crystal meth? he certainly has a pronounced 'meth face' these days. there is nothing in the article about drug abuse and rehab though? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.145.252.66 (talk) 10:49, 22 February 2010 (UTC)

Edit request from Mel.dailey, 12 October 2010

{{edit semi-protected}} The last 1/3 of the "Music" segment is filled with outdated information, many of which is irrelevant. It looks more like a Facebook Status Update than a wikipedia entry.

On Carter's show House of Carters, and on one of his official myspace.com sites, he says he's writing, recording and producing an album.[citation needed] Aaron is currently in the studio working on his new album co-writing and recording with Eddie Galan.[7]

  • The House of Carters show is NOT his show. The phrase "Carter's show" is incorrect. An entry of what's Carter currently doing should not be prior to events that took place in 2008*

One of Carter's more recent concert appearances took place on November 22, 2008 at Woodley Park in Van Nuys, California, as part of the first annual San Fernando Children's Day celebration.[8][9][10][11][12][13]

  • 2008 is not longer recent*

On April 24, 2009, Aaron performed with his sister Leslie Carter at the Luxy Nightclub 1 Year Anniversary Red Carpet Gala.[14][15]

  • This is not his resume, every single gig he scored doesn't have to be documented*

On July 30, 2010, Carter returned to the stage, performing a concert at The Crazy Donkey nightclub in Farmingdale, N.Y. before a wildly enthusiastic gathering of loyal fans.[20]

  • "wildly enthusiastic gathering of loyal fans"? Who wrote this, Aaron himself?*

On August 14, 2010, Carter performed at Reed's Nightclub in Blue Bell, PA.[21] On August 22, 2010, Carter will perform in Lake Ronkonkoma, NY at a benefit concert for Audrianna Bartol, a 3-year-old stricken with Stage 4 neuroblastoma cancer.[22][23]

  • The fact that he is performing at nightclubs is irrelevant to the MUSIC segment of this wiki. Carter cannot "will" perform at a past event. Posting the name and disease, and the stage, of the 3 year old is surely violating HIPAA law (patient's privacy).

I see no mention of Carter's drug use. That should be added in his "personal life" segment.

Mel.dailey (talk) 05:13, 12 October 2010 (UTC)

Rehab

http://www.tvguide.com/News/Aaron-Carter-Rehab-1028230.aspx "Aaron Carter has entered a treatment facility "to heal emotional and spiritual issues."

"He has chosen to enter a facility where he feels he will get the guidance and cleansing he needs, which in turn will help him on the music journey he's about to take," Johnny Wright, his manager, said in a statement.

The former Dancing with the Stars contestant has had some trouble in his history. In 2008, he was arrested for investigation of marijuana possession; in 2009, People reported that he owed more than $1 million in back taxes. Carter's older brother, Backstreet Boys member Nick Carter, has also struggled with addiction. He got sober in 2009 after 10 years of battling drugs and alcohol.

The 23-year-old Carter was working on an album in Florida when he checked into rehab.

"Aaron ... requested to take some time before we started, to heal some emotional and spiritual issues he was dealing with," Wright said. " —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.114.190.81 (talk) 16:19, 26 April 2011 (UTC)

Upstate New York

i am sorry to report that you have a mistake in you article the word upstate new york is incorrect,Jamestown, NY is considered Western New York. I suggest you look at Where Jamestown, NY is located and the "Upstate New York" wikipedia search or internet, Jamestown NY is Western NY. please change this mistake Thank you, i know this because i live in CNY that short for Central New York. thank you. upstate is not a good description for this. Kimmerz71788 (talk) 15:44, 22 November 2013 (UTC)

Not done: The article does not mention Jamestown and the statement about upstate NY has a citation which I assume supports the term. Reading Upstate NY, I see that western NY is "sometimes considered separate from upstate NY", which implies it is usually included in the term. Sorry, Celestra (talk) 19:29, 22 November 2013 (UTC)

Since there is no substantiation either way (western or upstate), I have changed it into New York state. That way, we can be more inclusive. At the end, the fact that they were from New York state is what matters. Whenever we have more published sources, we can always be more specific. werldwayd (talk) 22:09, 22 November 2013 (UTC) werldwayd (talk) 22:11, 22 November 2013 (UTC)

ATTENTION ALL I work for Aaron, his publicist, and managers, we have revised and updated his bio, I am copying it below because I can't figure out how to submit an edit (it says I'm not approved or something), can someone please tell me what to do to get the updated information posted? I also have updated photos that I don't know how to post if anyone can help, I'd greatly appreciate it! (If you need more information please email me at Management@AaronCarterContact.com)

Aaron Carter became an international pop sensation at the age of 10 and went on to release several hit singles and multiplatinum albums as well as appear in film, television and on Broadway. Carter recently finished a successful North American tour performing songs he made famous during the past 15 years. He is currently recording a new album and preparing for his next tour.

Carter, now 26, began his career at the age of 7 singing lead for the band Dead End. Two years later in 1997 he made his first solo appearance when he opened for brother Nick Carter’s band the Backstreet Boys in Berlin, Germany. Within months Carter was signed to a record label and released his first hit single, “Crush On You,” followed by his first album, “Aaron Carter” which achieved gold status in several countries around the world.

After signing with Jive Records the following year, Carter released his next album, “Aaron’s Party” in 2000, which was an instant success and went triple platinum selling more than 3 million copies. “Oh Aaron” was released in 2001, which also went platinum, followed by the double platinum album “Another Earthquake” in 2002. His collection album, “Most Requested Hits,” was released in 2003, followed by “Come Get It: The Very Best of Aaron Carter” in 2006.

One of the top pop acts of his time, Carter regularly toured around the world performing for millions of adoring fans. His best-known singles include “I Want Candy,” “Aaron’s Party,” “That’s How I Beat Shaq,” “Oh Aaron” and “I’m All About You.” Carter was also the featured opening act for the world tour of Britney Spears.

In 2013 Carter kicked-off the “After Party Tour,” his first tour in eight years, which was initially scheduled for 80 shows across North America but quickly grew to more than 150 dates after strong initial ticket sales.

Carter’s television credits include “Lizzie McGuire,” “Sabrina, The Teenage Witch,” “7th Heaven,” “Family Affair” and “Figure it Out.” Films include “Ella Enchanted,” “Fat Albert,” “PopStar” and “Supercross.” He has performed on soundtracks for motion pictures such as “The Princess Diaries,” “A Cinderella Story” and “Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius.” On Broadway, Carter appeared in “Seussical,” the Dr. Seuss themed musical, and more recently completed a

400-performance stint in “The Fantastiks,” the longest-running musical in the world. A new

generation of fans got introduced to Carter when he joined the cast of the hit ABC primetime series “Dancing With The Stars.” Carter and his partner, Karina Smirnoff, finished in fifth place in the competition.

Carter has won multiple awards, including the Teen Choice Award, Kids’ Choice Award and Radio Disney Music Award and is in the Guinness Book of World Records for being the youngest singer to have four consecutive top ten singles in the U.K. He has performed live around the world to crowds of more than 1 million fans, was a featured performer for the “Michael Jackson: 30th Anniversary Celebration” and has performed at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, the Billboard Music Awards, the People’s Choice Awards and the American Music Awards.

A gay icon doesn't have to be gay themselves, Madonna and Kylie definitely are not lesbians (although I'm sure Madonna's dabbled) yet they're known as gay icons because they're popular with the gay community...or most of them 78.86.230.62 (talk) 20:32, 18 December 2009 (UTC)

Edit Request March 8, 2016

I don't have a Wikipedia account, but I think this is important enough to add. On September 10, 2001, Carter opened for Michael Jackson in Madison Square Garden. The next day, Jackson invited Carter and Macaulay Culkin to an amusement park, and they were riding in Jackson's limo when it got a flat tire. The limo pulled over on the side of the Hudson River, and soon after Carter witnessed the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. The album is written by Carter, Jon Asher, Melanie Fontana, Taylor (Lakestreet Louie) Helgeson and Michel Schulz the album is set to be executive produced and independently released by Carter on his new Record Label venture, Rakkaus Records.

(EDIT: This sentence needs a conjoining word after "Schulz" or a semicolon as there is none present and the sentence is run-on)

Wording change request

The last sentence in the article says that Carter "settled all of his tax debt", which makes it sound as though he made good on some of it, or at least leaving out the established fact that he has paid practically nothing of it back. If you follow the given source through to http://www.tmz.com/2014/05/31/aaron-carter-bankruptcy-discharge-creditor-broke/, you will find that "Carter has been relieved of his massive debts by a bankruptcy judge. [...] He owed more than $2 million, and was worth a meager $8K. [...] Aaron's $1.3 million tax debt was also excused." Please change the wording in the article to more accurately reflect this. Thank you. --94.220.1.47 (talk) 11:11, 1 February 2017 (UTC)

An ounce of weed is 28 grams. 28+28=56 grams, he was caught with 58 grams you said thats more than 2 ounces not less

Partly done: 1 ounce = 28.3495 grams, therefore 2 ounces = 56.669 approximately 57 grams. Changed the text to ".....less than two ounces........" and removed the convert template to avoid any confusuion. According to the source cited there, there is no mention of grams. You can re-open the request If you find a source that states he was caught with 58 grams of weed. regards, DRAGON BOOSTER 11:44, 15 August 2017 (UTC)

user:anon03/10/19 Dear all. I haven't edited on Wikipedia pages before but thought it would be relevant to add to the page about the artwork theft Carter committed (and continues to commit) that he posted about on September 27th 2019 (https://twitter.com/aaroncarter/status/1177499296876261381). Here's a record of exchanges between Carter and the original Artist, posted by the Artist (https://shimhaq.tumblr.com/post/188025993302/so-interesting-stuff-happened-over-the-weekend-i). Carter continues to have the image as the promotion image for his upcoming tour and as a design on his merchandise (https://aaroncarter.com/).84.13.59.0 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 22:29, 3 October 2019 (UTC)

In January 2020, German artist Jonas Jödicke pointed out to Carter on Twitter that Carter was making unauthorized use of Jödicke's copyrighted artwork to promote Carter's clothing merchandise.[70] Carter responded to Jödicke, tweeting: "you should've taken it as a compliment dick a fan of MINE sent this to me. oh here they go again, the answer is No this image has been made public and im using it to promote my clothing line aaroncarter.com guess I'll see you in small claims court FUCKERY".[71] Following the incident, Jödicke was interviewed by Forbes, saying he was "absolutely amazed" at Carter's response.[72] In June 2021, Jödicke tweeted that a settlement had been reached where Carter would pay him $12,500.[73] AmrasWerewolf (talk) 16:09, 1 July 2021 (UTC)

"Some reports"? Please provide links to these reports. When there is information that is worthy of inclusion in an encylopedia and verified by reliable sources, it will be added to the article. We will never include content that is based on speculation or unsubstantiated claims. If you have information and sources that meet these criteria, you are welcome to present them here for evaluation. Stoarm (talk) 19:32, 7 November 2022 (UTC)
Current news reports New York Post are saying there were multiple cans of compressed air as well as prescription pills found at the scene. Whyyestoall (talk) 14:52, 8 November 2022 (UTC)
Page Six is not a reliable source and therefore cannot be used. It is a gossip page of the tabloid, New York Post. Also, the information you're referring to was obtained from TMZ, which also cannot be used as a source. But it doesn't matter anyway because the info about the cans and pills is already included in current sources in this article, but it cannot be included because they remain unsubstantiated claims, thus the word "reportedly". Celebrity deaths necessitate patience until official, confirmed information is released and provided by reliable sources. Of course, just because information is provided by a reliable source does not automatically make it enyclopedic. Please remember to sign all your comments. Stoarm (talk) 16:36, 9 November 2022 (UTC)

Reference 98

My concern here is you are allowing a reference to justify a comment when the reference is only media reporting a story. There is no actual credible evidence to confirm this. I don’t see how you can allow an unreferenced media story as a credible reference. Surely we need an official source of information with documentation or a quote from an actual official preferably on video.!! 88.97.3.200 (talk) 08:09, 14 November 2022 (UTC)

the commentary regarding his brother should be removed:

"Nick's legal team denied the allegations, which came after Nick and their sister, Angel, sought restraining orders against Carter, who reportedly confessed that he had thoughts of killing Nick's then-pregnant wife, Lauren Carter."

This is unrelated to Aaron Carter's life story, plus there is controversy if this did actually happen. Aaron Carter's official statement was to deny this was true. Friends of Angel Carter (Conrad) Lina Valentina wrote online via twitter and instagram that the restraining order was fabricated to prevent Aaron from owning guns.

Please remove this line and additional references to Nick Carter's rape case, or move it to Nick Carter's wikipedia page.
