from Nablus, after all??[edit]

Ok, so this auction site (archive) says that his father was of Palestinian descent.

They also mention:

  • Gildemeister, J. (1882). "Des 'Abd al-Ghani al-Nabulsi reise von Damascus nacht Jerusalem". Zeitschrift der Deutschen Morgenlandischen Gesellschaft. 36: 385-400.

(heh, I wouldn't mind having that book, but 15,000 GBP - 20,000 GBP is a tad too much...for a book I wouldn't even be able to read!) Huldra (talk) 23:54, 7 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

...the last ref is in the article already, but not the two first ones. Also, it seems as of his fathers family definitely came from Palestine. According to this, he was a "Damascene whose family originally came from Jerusalem and Nablus", Huldra (talk) 22:55, 9 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Tripoli[edit]

I suspect that some but not all references to Tripoli intend Tripoli, Lebanon. Please can a subject expert make any necessary changes? Thanks, Certes (talk) 13:36, 21 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
