Thank you Edward H for your valuable insights to the article but the matter you have blanked out has changed the meaning of the article. But i condider this to be a good faith edit and reverted the same. further if you have any queries please feel free to add it and if you really think matter requires correction please keep the meaning intact. You can also ask me here on talk. I will update the same as soon as possible. I see that you are very busy and take care of a number of articles daily. i request you to help me too in improving this article. in this process i too will learn from it. May I briefly justify some of the edits I made?
  • Removing wikilinks – see WP:REPEATLINK – for instance, it is not necessary to link to Dawoodi Bohra every time it is mentioned becuase the reader may already know what it is in this context and, if they don't, then they will follow the first link to it they can see.
  • Trying to create a neutral point-of-view and suitable tone – see WP:NPOV and WP:TONE – the article suffers from an abundance of peacock terms, such as 'uncanny foresight', 'A great coincidence or the revelation of a great plan!' and 'touched the hearts'.
  • Shortening names – much like links, the reader will know who someone is after you have mentioned them once. To make the article more concise, you could trim many of the occurrences of 'Syedna Abdul Qadir Najmuddin' to 'Syedna Najmuddinn' or just 'Najmuddin', and so on for other names as well.
  • Notice on lack of inline citations – see WP:WHYCITE – it's great that you've managed to find some sources for this article and citations to these will help keep the article's content verifiable.
  • Removing Islamic honorifics – see WP:PBUH
  • Grammar and punctuation
Questions I have:
  • What is 'nas'? It is mentioned repeatedly in the article, but never defined.
  • Who are the enemies of the sect?
  • Can you rephrase this sentence? 'A famous poet had written a poem on Maulana Ali and he had the intention of offering the same to Maulana Ali'
  • When did a 'huge fire' broke out in Surat?
  • How many assassinations attempts were there against Najumuddin?
  • What exactly are the ranks of 'Rasul Hadood' and 'Sadrul Hadood'? What responsibilities come with them?

Thank you for your patience. Let me start out with answering your queries:

  • 1) Nas is the process of appiontment of a successor. For details you can refer to nass (islam)
  • 2) During that period the enemies of the sect did not engage in open attacks but they created the entire conspiracy secretly. It was only during the times of the 51st Da'i al-Mutlaq that they came into open and filed a court case and it was revealed that the enemies were the people with progressive theology. Since during the period this article is referong to it was not clear as to who exactly were the enemies and if they had formed a group or not, so i have mentioned them as enemies of the sect as the did exist and created a lot of havoc in the minds of the members of Dawoodi Bohra sect.
3) ok i will rephrase the sentence.
4) the details of the fire that broke out in Surat is significant as it burnt down the house of the Da'i al-Mutlaq, and the nearby houses and structures. It was huge in terms for the Dawoodi Bohra sect.
5)The assasination attempts were against his father not him.
6) Both the ranks are basically title ranks and is indicative of the position of the person in the Dawoodi Bohra sect.

Regarding the changes about the article carried out by you, please let me go through it. I will get back to you on that too, most probably today itself. Thank you again for you patience and understanding. Araz5152 (talk) 16:01, 1 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I went through the changes in the article and have edited the article accordingly but by trying to keep the meaning unchanged.

  • removed repeated Wikilinks
  • removed pecock terms and made normal npov sentences.
  • replaced names with pronouns wherever possible. Further names cannot be shortened as you say because Syedna is like 'Pope' of the Dawoodi Bohra sect and only one person in the world gets to use the term just like in case of the Pope. And referring to Pope as Pope John Paul is permissable in Wikipedia. Hence referred to the 'Pope' of Dawoodi Bohra as given in the article.
  • the article is about a person who lived in the 1800 when media was not so developed so inline citation is a bit difficult. His details can be found in the books mentioned in the references and a few links. If you can elaborate on how to give inline citations i will definitely do it.
  • i have removed Islamic honorifics as mentioned in Wikipedia article.
  • Grammer and punctuation i will recheck tommorow.

I request you to please go through the article and give feedback regarding the same as soon as possible. Thank you once again for you patience, cooperation and efforts. Araz5152 (talk) 23:03, 1 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
