Afuganisu-tan vs Afghanis-tan vs Afuganisutan vs Afghanistan (manga) vs ...[edit]

I just created this article, and I chose to use a fairly direct romanization of the name of the manga. Since there is no official Enlish name, there could be an argument for another name, such as those listed above. If anyone has a strong opinion, I would not strongly oppose moving the article. Probably some of the ones that are not chosen should redirect here. (I see that Afuganisutan already exists, as a redirect to Afghanistan.) BlckKnght 09:39, 18 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The article mentions the author vanishing because he/she received a virus from the Winny P2P software. Obviously the author vanishing is a big deal, but I don't see the significance of Winny.--Agent Aquamarine 01:53, 17 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It's a virus that puts all of one's from one's computer to the winny network somehow... and aparently he had lots of copyrighted material on it (which is illegal). The virus publicly distributed all of his data, including both personal information and copyrighted material. If it had leaked over any other P2P service, that service would be named. The data was leaked, via a virus, onto Winny. That's the fact of the matter, and it seems relevant in that Winny is a notable file-sharing program within his home country. Dead Links?[edit]

Now this may just be me talking in ignorance, but in the fan translation link, all of its links seem to be down. If I'm not mistaken, its links were the whole point of it, so since it is no longer... erm... functional, shouldn't it be removed? Zeotronic 02:27, 30 December 2006 (UTC)

September 11th Adaptation[edit]

This article seems to be a bit contradictory. There is this statement:

In particular, the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, an actual tragedy in which many died, were depicted as "an incident where a cat called Al-Qaeda bit America",

This is contradictory to the character summary, which is:

Meriken (めりけん, represents the United States?) The richest person in the neighborhood. Good in a fight, and never doubts her own sense of justice.

Al-Nyaida (あるにゃいだ, Arunyaida?, represents Al-Qaeda) A group of feral cats causing trouble in the neighborhood. Come to live in Afghanis-tan's house while she is out.

Shouldn't the reference in the summary say "an incident where a cat called Al-Nyaida bit Meriken" instead? Tyciol 20:21, 10 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I assume that the text inside the quotation marks there is (a translation of) exactly what was actually written in the Japanese book "Introduction to the Kashmir conflict (カシミール紛争入門)". The author of that book may not have cared to accurately summarize the comic, especially when the moe-ized name Al-Nyaida ("nya" being a Japanese onomatopoeia for a cat's meow) is precisely the sort of thing he is complaining about. I can see why Hetalia would have a page-it's so popular. But Afuganisu-tan is not that popular. Anyway, I was wondering... Scandinavia and the World (www.satwcomic.com) is more popular than Afugan, so why doesn't it have a page on here? It has one on the Swedish Wikipedia. I'll gladly make it!
