Luis Suarez is not black[edit]

In notable people Luis Suarez, a footballer, says that he is black. You can see his photo in his article and see he is a white man. Thanks Sirslayercort (talk) 13:24, 2 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Your personal opinion is irrelevant if he identifies as being black, and has African ancestry. Questions of 'ethnicity' and 'race' are not easily defined, an how dark someone's skin is is not the measure of identification. There are, for example, a multitude of Australian Aboriginal Elders and activists who look white. Colour can change in a single generation, or over a number of generations. This doesn't make an individual more or less a part of an ethnic/racial group. Iryna Harpy (talk) 05:11, 1 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
