I will be reviewing this article for all you lucky son of a guns. — Legolas (talk2me) 11:18, 24 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

A quick look of the article, and I am absolutely not impressed. Let me delve in now. — Legolas (talk2me) 06:41, 25 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Checklinks – Having a look at the link, I can see so much of inconsistent reference formatting, sometimes the same publication is in teh work parameter, sometimes publisher, once I saw a work parameter with a single quotes around it. Brrr. And most of them are non-English references but no language parameters.
  • Media – I'm fine with the infoboz image, but not sure about the copyright status of the other two images. A quick medi-qiki check revealed that they have been used in other websites also, hence I don't believe that they are the uploader's own work.
    • The first photo was originally from Flickr and is licensed to be copied. I don't know about the second, besides from what it says. --ĈÞЯİŒ 1ооо 12:44, 25 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

More to come in a bit as I take a printout of this article, but don't expect anything flaming. Its not going in a good direction. — Legolas (talk2me) 06:41, 25 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

After much consideration and sorting through my notes while reviewing this article, I have decided to fail it for now. I think you might be pretty disappointed in me or even be angry, but its better for the article. In no good conscience I can pass an article of this state. PFB the detailed reasons. Oh and by the way this is really shocking. How much did you really contribute? — Legolas (talk2me) 17:19, 27 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Lead
  • First of all, the lead and introduction of the article doesnot summarize its contents at all. It should conform to WP:LEAD, and for such a huge article, I would expect at least three paragraphs minimum.
  • Huge chunks of the lead are unsourced, funnily they are not sourced in teh article also.
  • The infobox lists genres like R&B also, but in the whole article there's no explanation as to how she gained that influence.
  • LAbels in infobox are not dated.
  • Official website should use template {{URL}}.
  • Whatever the lead is present, it is p;oorly constructed, filled with overlinking, common terms are highlighted unnecessarily and there's so many inconsistencies in MoS of numbering.

Let's move to the article body (shudder)

Early life
  • Pray why is suddenly early life section name not dated?
  • Name of parents?
  • We donot use the first name of living people. We use the last name or the surname. The artist should be referred to as Carlsson throughout the article.
  • Why is the quote suddenly italicized?
  • whilst? wasn't? one-on one?
  • The Stevie Wonder reference here really doesnot make any sense? Stevie Wonder and choir?
Idol
  • En-dash indates and it should be 2005–07 not 2005-2007 per MOSDATES
  • No paras, rather no sentence should start as "In the so and so....". Bad way of representing.
  • popular Swedish singing competition Idol --> Idol is first a show, then a competition
  • The four judges were all hugely impressed by the strong power of her --> All I can say is that note the NNPOV here.
  • Her vocals continued to impress the judges, and she made it to the semi-finals --> Boring
  • To the dismay of the judges however, Agnes did not get a place in the final eleven contestants through public voting, and when she again failed to grab a place through the special 'wildcard' round, they decided to pass her through to the finals as the judges' choice contestant --> Just my POV, what a pathetic contest? Why the viewers were even voting when judges were finding ways to enter their fav?
  • Despite the lack of public support earlier in the competition, Agnes went on to amaze both the judges and the public during every week of the finals, with a result of making it into the grand finale without ever falling into the bottom two or three contestants ---> Too long a snake
  • With 57% of the one million public votes cast during the finale, she defeated Sebastian Karlsson and was crowned as the second Swedish Idol, and the first female to win the competition ---> Was crowned as teh second Swedish Idol? As far as I can recall, its a competition, and she should be referred to as the winner.
  • Idol, overlink
  • The song was quickly certified double platinum for the sale of over 40,000 copies in Sweden ---> Sweden certifies for shipments, not sales.
  • her highly anticipated debut album Agnes --> Why the anticipation?
  • ..release, selling almost 40,000 copies --> see above
  • In March 2006, whilst touring in support of her debut album.... This small section is completely WP:OR. Sighh
  • On August 22, 2006, only eight months after her Idol win, Agnes's third single "Kick Back Relax" premiered on the TV-show "Sommarkrysset".[4] The song, which would serve as the lead single from her second studio album, was released on September 7 and narrowly missed the top spot on the Swedish singles chart, peaking at number two.[4] Her second album, Stronger was released on October 11, ...... Same with this part also.
Dance Love Pop
  • Departure from Sony BMG is an insignificant thing in her careerm, and yet it is mentioned in the section name? Why?
  • the first single from her upcoming third studio, was released????
  • All dates here fails MOS. It should be October 26, 2009, ..... like this.
  • the competition that would decide Sweden's entrant to the Eurovision song contest ---> What is Eurovision song contest?
  • The song was written by Anders Hansson, who had previously worked with Agnes on ---> Hoe many times will you repeat this?
  • The rest of the para reads like a diary entry on the life of Carlsson.
  • attempts to promote Melodifestivalen in the spring of 2009 ---> Pardon?
  • Again follows a para full of OR...
  • After eight weeks it managed to get a Silver certification with over 300,000 copies ---> I really hate this kinda OR.
  • The song was also released in a few other countries such as Italy, The Netherlands, Norway and Australia but failed to enter any charts. ---> Another instance.
Fourth album
  • There are similar issues in this section as the previous ones. There's no point in exhausting myself and listing them. I stopped going through it all together.
Influence
  • All these chit-chat about so many genres infleuncing her, where the hell are the sources?
  • The first para entirely talks about how judges said her voice is so great. Pray, but does that even remotely correspond to musical style?
  • she was introduced to the songwriter and producer Anders Hansson ---> Third time I'm writing his name
  • Why are all the quotes italicized? This is such a poor display.
Other sections
  • Both the discography and tours are not correct in their representation.

This article has really miles to go before it is even worthy of GA. Sorry if these words seem harsh, but ultimately it will better the article. No one is getting golden nuggets for this one. Failed GA. — Legolas (talk2me) 17:19, 27 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Just some general comments for whoever plans to address these concerns. Contrary to what is said above, she should be referred to as "Agnes" not Carlsson because Agnes is her stage name and what she is known by; also dates should be in European format like 26 October 2009, not American.
