Comments[edit]

General[edit]

  • Infobox: 24 August 1855 → {{birth date|1855|08|24|df=y}} and 29 July 1905 (aged 49) → {{death date and age|1905|07|29|1855|08|24|df=y}}
    • Changed.
  • Business ventures and the Book of Ices: there seems to be a missing quotation mark in the last sentence at ice breaking machine".
    • Yes, added the missing quotation mark.
  • Lede: implement {{nee|Smith}}
    • Done, didn't know there was a template.
  • The article is well-written, although I had noticed a lot of words that should not be used per MOS:WTW. I've noticed that extraordinary and renowned are present.
    • Was not aware of this (this is my first good article nom). I've tried to work away words mentioned in MOS:WTW.
  • It also meets the "broad in its coverage", "neutral", and "stable" criteria.

Images[edit]

  • Alt tags should be added to every image.
    • Done.
  • Some pictures are missing authors, although considering that these pictures are now in the public domain, there won't be a problem.

Sources[edit]

  • Copyvio unlikely.
  • Ref 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 12, 14, 15, 17 are not accessible, either certain pages are missing or there aren't online versions of these books. Refs 1, 6, 7, 9, 10, 11, 13, 16, 18, and 19 are accessible and they verify the content.
    • Do I need to do something about this or is this fine? I accessed most of the sources through Google Books but it might show different pages depending on how you access the books.
      • If you still have access to those nine sources, you could add URLs to them that would link to those specific pages. Although if you don't, that's alright. Considering that ten other sources that are available verify the content in the article, I'd say that others nine do too then. --Vacant0 (talk) 12:48, 12 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Add missing pages to references 1, 8, 15.
    • The versions of these books that I could access online seems like they were ebook versions, either without page numbers or with page numbers not matching what would be in the print version. This is why I added the chapter titles for them which should be the same - don't know how to proceed with this point.

@Beodizia: I've raised issues regarding this page, I will put this on hold until further notice. --Vacant0 (talk) 20:25, 11 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Vacant0: Hi, thank you for looking through this article! I've edited the article and responded to you above (most points adressed but some questions). Beodizia (talk) 21:45, 11 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Looks good now. I will promote this article to GA, considering that it meets all criteria now. Vacant0 (talk) 12:50, 12 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I also want to note that the Legobot seems to be stuck. You were supposed to get a message on your talk page yesterday twice, and are supposed to get another message from the bot now. I don't know what caused this, although it seems like I am not the only one who noticed this error. Vacant0 (talk) 12:57, 12 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! Yeah that's weird - I noticed the review anyway since you edited the article's talk page to put this on hold. Beodizia (talk) 20:41, 12 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
