Incidents and accidents[edit]

I do seem to recall that, when working at Aberdeen Airport in 1976/77, a Fokker Friendship from Air Anglia suffered a partial undercarriage failure whilst parked on the apron in front of the old airport terminal. Rumour at the time was that a ground engineer accidentally retracted one of the main undercarriage legs whilst performing ground checks. Whatever the reason, the aircraft dropped on one side and the wing hit the floor, apparently knocking it slightly out of true.

The aircraft was righted pretty quickly but it sat on the apron for some time until a volunteer crew flew it back to Air Anglia's repair base at Norwich Airport. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.210.36.140 (talk) 14:48, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
